I got the trailer announcement e-mail 2 days after the trailer launched.



Not worried just yet.



But epic item give away. Though that means it was never in the 'vanilla' game? =O

Hmmkay, nothing here but I guess it as Chris says (I had the mail announcing the DA2 trailer, so it worked for me before).

Swordstaves in DA2 are, indeed, for mages only. :/ I don't usually play a mage first but I'm making exception so I can use this thing for a little while - until I find a better weapon.

Awh... curseword! I totally missed this, and I would have wanted the newsletter anyway... not to mention that I prefer to play as a mage... 
Can you still get your hands on this if you sign up now? I mean, come on Bioware, you know you like me! I bought the Collector's Edition and all the DLC for Origins after all... but I did fail to sign up for the DA2 newsletter, until today that is.

Just a mage, actually. In DA2 mages can use melees attack. It's possible that the trailer exagerated the attacks a little, but he's still a mage.

REDEEMING YOUR CODE NOW IS OK!  We do not expect you to have to hang on to the email until launch.

However, it might only appear on your list of DLC here on social closer to DA2 launch.  Unless you got an error when redeeming, the item is there and we'll roll that out on to your list of content as soon as we can so you can confirm.

The code is redeemed on an account here on social.  If you have more than 1 account on social then first login to the one you want the staff for - the code has 1 use only, and once redeemed on one account it will not be usable on another. 

Particularly important for console players - If you have more than 1 social account, ensure your gamertag or psn account name is correctly linked to the account you are redeeming the code against (social shows the gamertag/psn account name at the top of the redeem page). 

And for those still waiting for the item - as Chris mentioned, it may still take a few days to send the email to everyone, please be patient and give it a few more days.

Subscribed for the newsletter as soon as the new site and trailer came up..but i havent got a code..and i did definately subscribe as ive had both the site update announcement email and the witch hunt email..

Just need to sign up for the newsletter before October ends. Seems like they extended it.

This seems to be a pretty MAJOR weapon, it would really suck to miss out on it, it should be made available as a DLC afterword's for people who don't get it, seems almost like its THE weapon for Hawke as you use it in all the advertisements so it would be weird for everyone not to get it eventually.
