Magic
has always run strongly within the Hawke bloodline. The tales passed
down from one generation to the next tell of an ancestor named
Parthalan, a mage who long ago helped to unite Ferelden under the rule
of King Calenhad. Parthalan eventually vanished into legend, fleeing the
persecution of the Chantry, but his legacy remains in the hands of his
family - along with his hope that one day, mages would achieve the
freedom that King Calenhad intended to bring to all men.
I seem to remember from the Destiny trailer an army of angry Morrigans facing off against an army of templars (called Grey Wardens in the director's cut). Could it be that the reason why Hawke is one of the most important people in Thedas is because he brought freedom to the mages at one of the largest circles in the known continents? And with Qunari possibly invading, and keeping their mages on leashes, could it be that perhaps they might stand with him? Maybe some of them... Maybe not. But no one wants to be treated like a lowly animal, or worse.

So if we were silly enough to enter the code before DA2's launch, would we still get the staff?
Now why would you go and do a silly thing like that? The game isn't out until March. What did you think woudl happen?
I will check, but likely will not be able to find out until Monday.
In the mean time, if you read this frst please DO NOT try to redeem your code yet. Thanks.
does the code have to come from an e-mail tied to your account to work? i have a code thats on e-mail "A", but dont want to use it on account A, i want to use it on account B, would that work?
if thats too confusing, ignore the second part lol, i have a habit of over-complicating things lol

Awesome, glad these have finally made it out.
This is the "epic in game weapon" that we advertised during this past summer's convention season. Anyone who signed up for the newsletter at a Con, signed up while the Con was on, or was already signed up for the newsletter should be getting this. We did have a small technical issue that delayed us in sending them out, but it looks like that has been fixed so the codes are on the way.
If you have not gotten yours yet, do not panic! We have a lot of people signed up for the newsletter, so it will take days to get them all sent (and I am not usre if it happens on the weekend or not). So please give it a few days before worrying you did not get it.
Hope you enjoy wielding the "Staff of Pathalan"!![]()

Ah, that explains it. 90% of everything I know about ffvi I learned from this video, so I'm not exactly an expert.Dave of Canada wrote...

Yay! I got mine. Now the challenge will be to not accidentally delete the e-mail between now and March.

Put it in the archive or save the code in a word file or something.

The item is just for DA2, why redeem the code?
Anyway, Chris said he'll try to find out.

I also see it as selling out since your forced into pressing that little like button on something no one at this point can possibly know if they like yet.
I would be more then happy to pay a few dollars for an item pack for these items tho. Maybe pass that on to the beancounters.

syringe + bleach insert into right temple about half a inch and depress the plunger. Your brain is now cleaned.

A staff? Oh gag, I hope you're not stuck playing a blood mage or something. Being locked as human is awful enough.
Err, why would a staff download mean you're locked into being a mage?

No. You're not. If you're warrior or rogue just give the staff for Bethany or something.

Maybe I should break ou the old "I used to be a bioware fan" banner since I am to damned stubborn to be wrangled up to any of these other worthless (thats my opinion) social sites (twitter facebook) that I have never had any interest in.

Hi Addiction. You know EVERYONE who signed up for the newsletter got this, right? Not just Facebook or Twitter users (also not to mention that by joining us here you ALREADY signed up for a Social platform, but I digress). So if you have an account here, you could have signed up for the newsletter, got the item and still felt self righteous about not compromising your morals.
So, what were you saying about being forced? Please, do go on.
