Okay I have a question that i wasn't sure where to post it so I guess here is good...anyway I was wondering if anyone knew of a mod to change the body of the player character. While I know this probably isn't the first thing people would want to do it's something that interests me.

To be specific I was wondering if there was any mod to make my elf taller and a bit more defined and musculare. If such a mod exists would someone be so kind as to point me to where I might find it.

I posted this in the wrong section before and people just seem to be ignoring it and the mods haven't moved it so I post it here.

The only way to have a taller Elf would be either to use Human body models and add pointy ears to a Human head, or create entirely new custom body models for every set of armour in the game (using the Human rig) and again custom heads of some sort. So no, there are no mods like that.

Damn. So would it be possible to write a new body and then create a high level set of armor that you like and just have your character wear that the whole game? I mean that would be quicker right?

Each race uses a completely different rig (i.e. skeleton). You would have to make a new custom race that uses the Human rig so you could use Human body models. You would also require new heads to use in conjunction with the bodies. At the very least you'd require a naked/underwear mesh in addition to an armour mesh. Whilst that would be "quicker", it still involves a lot of work. If you could live without the pointy ears you could possibly do something similar to the Qunari PC mod but using a Human instead (although the link for the tutorial appears to be dead, so I'm not sure how that worked).

Hmm...so if I were to do this I would have to be an experienced modder? Like how difficult would you say that is because I only dabble and do small things.

it's impossible for you but doable for others. i doubt that someone will hassle with this just for slightly taller elves. the more muscular elf will be noticable only without wearing armor so that's also not the favoured place to invest hard work.

if you have a lot of free time you can grab gmax and do some tutorials. within days/weeks you should be ready to start - it's not that hard, but very time intensive ;)

I have a fair amount of free time. :D

Well I mean I wasn't hoping for just an Elf but all the races to have different sizes and heights and all that. I mean I don't think it would be slightly taller if the Elf is taller than the standard human model. And with broader shoulders and larger arms.

Plus I think thin Dwarves would be cool too. Or buff short humans.

I think this would be quite a bit of work. So would it be easier for me to do this if I improved my own skills and then had people help or do you think I should just see if I can pitch this to a group and see if they can make it fly.

That's not going to happen. A single race shares one common rig and a set of body meshes. For there to be multiple different height/shapes in a single race would require all those variations to be split into individual races, each with a new rig and new set of body models. You are talking hundreds of new body meshes needing to be made, as each body model requires three LOD variants.

as darth said: that's simply impossible. too much senseless work to do^^ they should have adapt the system of nwn2 where there's a 3 axis scaling function for almost everything.
