In my first playthrough only Thane was K.I.A. - because i make him command 2nd fireteam. A few weeks ago, i killed everyone - Sheppard included. And that was godhdamn suicide! I forget about upgrades, loyalty missions and half game. It's too hard to kill a whole team. And it's impossible to fail Suicide mission.

I lost nobody on my first playthrough, but to be honest, I was lucky there. On my second one, I lost Zaeed and Legion and back then I didn't even understand why.

Thane died on my first playthrough because I choose Jack as my biotic to make the shield and she wasn't loyal because of me siding with Miranda during their fight. and during the cut scene run for the door Thane gat pulled away by the collector storm

No one dead on my first playthrough. I have to admit I was somewhat spoiled as to know Garrus works for Firing Squad leader, though I planned on using him anyway so I think it qualifies as having been genuine. This so called "Suicide"-Mission is, albeit being a brilliant mission, is not suicidal at all and thus very disappointing as it would have been the one and only true dramatic moment in ME2.

Thane while closing the doors. Did not care.

No one died for me.

I was too meticulous in getting everyone's loyalty and I read the Chekhov's Guns when picking the specialists for the Endgame. (If I remember correctly I picked Garrus as the 1st Fire Leader, Legion as the Tech/Vents, Mordin to Escort the crew and Miranda as 2nd fire leader)

Mordin while holding the line - I stupidly thought that you'd need someone with combat and leadership skills to escort injured civilians through enemy territory.

I didn't read any of the spoilers here, as I wanted a "true to me" game. It was pretty nasty as I lost Tali (loyal) - rocket to the face, Jack (not loyal) - died on the escape out, and Zaeed (loyal) second fire leader. I also lost the SR-2 crew because I sent them back unescorted (geez thanks for the bad advice Miranda). Since then I have had the odd loss, either Legion or Jack, but I have done a few perfect games as well.

Mordin and Zaeed. I used Mordin for my tech expert thinking, "He's a genius, invents tech, and is generally not suited to front line assaults, so he must work.", and then he gets a rocket in the face. Zaeed, well, I just didn't give a crap if he died or not, so I chose him for second fire team leader.

Jack died holding the line on my first playthrough...I didn't have enough renegade/paragon points during that disagreement with Miranda.

Tali took a blaster to the face. The problem was that on my first runthrough I didn't know that doing the Reaper IFF would throw events into motion so quickly, so I didn't know I should do loyalty missions first.

I haven't figured out how to keep the person in the duct who opens the gates, I normally use Legion since he's last person I get and he's a machine, guessing the 2nd Geth shield up would keep him alive? haven't found both, hate going to every damn planet looking for possable ups

I lost Zaeed and Mordin on my first playthrough. Picked Zaeed to lead the 2nd fire team when I escorted Samara. Never would have thought a guy with a ton of combat experience would suck as a leader. Mordin died when I left him to hold the line with the rest of the squad. Ten playthroughs later, haven't lost a single person :)

On my first playthrough, no one died. No walkthroughs was needed, I did everyone's loyalty mission, paragoned through the arguments, and understood who best fit the specialty roles.

I lost Jack and Legion. I couldn't get Jack's loyalty back after siding with Miranda. And it didn't even occur to me that I had lost Legion's loyalty in his disagreement with Tali.

Since then, I started playing renegade and I think it was easier to keep all their loyalties that way.

Lost Thane.... should've stuck with Garrus as the leader but the second time I thought Thane would work.

Lost Miranda on holding the line because i sided with Jack in the argument.. I didn't know I was chosing sides when I responded.

Tali died trying to shut the door, because I figured Zaeed was experienced enough to be the fire team leader.  I couldn't help laughing because it reminded me of this scen from south park.

C'mon Tali!  The guy said you had the security system in your memory bank!
Solus died too during the "Hold the line" part because I neglected to upgrade his omnitool.

First playthrough, I lost Grunt. Apparently, when I was deciding who would lead the distraction team while I went with Jack with the biotic field, I got into a WOW mentality and immediately saw Grunt as a tank, so I picked him. BIG mistake. Although he did spout out one of the coolest lines of dialog in the game.
"Too many. Gave them hell but... shields dropped. Good fight Shepard. Good fight..."
I'm gonna miss you big guy. :(

First playthrough I lost Jacob and Thane. Thane because my Shep didn't recruit Tali, thus no Shield upgrade, thus Thane incinerated (as sent Legion to Cerberus and this was before Kasumi was available), lost Jacob because as previously mentioned, no Kasumi, Tali or Legion, thus Jacob took rocket to the face. I have since redone this playthrough with Kasumi added and only lost Thane (due to same reason as before) and the 2nd playthrough allowed me to keep Grunt in his tank as before I needed him to make up the 8th Squadmate as I didn't recruit Samara either.

People talking about losing Mordin (or even Legion) for not getting his upgrades, it doesn't matter if you do or not. He is just the most likeliest to die during the Hold the Line bit at the end if you haven't got the right defence score to allow all survive.

bobobo878, great video, hilarious. definately applies. On my reload (everyone died first time), i lost jacob in the vents, jack transporting the crew, and tali leading the fire team. sad sad moment. i like to see that many people are intrested in this thread. i was worried it would die fast because it is a more serious and actualy pertains to the game.
