When I played ME1  I didnt really realize you could create relationships, not until my Femshep got some very flirtous dialouge options when talking to Liara. And I am all for blue skinned sexy alien girls so of course I started hitting on her with much enthusiasm, ths was quite late in the game however and just a few missions away from completion.

When I started ME2 and imported my character I noticed that for some reason there was a picture of that dork Kaidan from ME1 in my Capntains quarters. I didnt think much of it, I barely even talked to him and certainly never brought him on any missions because he is such an utterly boring character (imho).

I just now finished Shadow Broker I was told that Liara and my Femshep would hit it off in back in the captains quarter on the Normandy, but all they do is talk and hug. After reading up a bit on it I am told to for some retarded reason Kaiden is my romance partner from ME1 - WTF???! I HATE HIM! I am positive my Femshep never had any encounters in the bed chamber at all.

Could someone please explain to me why Kaiden can be my Femshep's romance partner when she barely spoken has to him and done everything to get Liaras attention in ME!

If someone tells me I have to replay all the first game AND the second just to salvage my characters social profile for future games I am going to explode. I would hate that something like this would affect my future character in future games, so I just cant let it go :\\

I really hope there is a save game editor or something to repair this? Replaying the games would take months.

He's locked in as your LI. Same happened with me, only the opposite. If you want to change it, you'll have to replay ME1 and ME2. Unless you're on pc, which I'm not. I'm sure somebody has made a saved game editor or something.

But playing through ME1 could be finished in a day or two, so it's not a huge deal, imo.

Nah there are savegame editors, but you still have to replay ME2:

Gibb_Shepard, thats very helpful thank you!

I have been browsing that quite massive thread for a bit now, it seems to mostly handle weapons/armour and stuff like that. Do you have any idea where to start looking? :)

And by the way, you wrote I need to restart ME2? Do I need to change the original ME1 savegame and the import that into Mass Effect 2? I thought I would be able to change the ME2 savegame, but then I wouldnt need to restart playing ME2?

Yeah unfortunately when you edit the ME1 decisions in your ME2 save you have to import that save into new game+ for the decisions to take effect, in your case you would have to restart in order for Liara to be your LI.

And i have never used the save game editor, but from what i understand you must download the Gibbed Save Editor, and in that editor there are boxes that you can click and unclick as far as choices go. But to get it all working is quite and in-depth process, especially for the 360, so you would have to read the tutorials and if you have any problems ask the experts in that thread, i'm sure they'll help you out.

Open your ME2 save (the one you romanced Kaiden with) in gibbed editor.

Pick the Plot tab, Mass Effect 1, Flags, and see a list of check boxes. Scroll down to the [Player] ones and uncheck romancing Kaidan, and check Romancing Liara.

Now click the Values tab and change and change the romance progress value for Liara to at least 4. If you had slept with her on the way to Ilos, she would be at 6. Also change Kaidan's romance progress value to either 0 or a value less than whatever you set Liara to. If you romanced both in ME1 but chose Liara at the confrontation, Kaidan would be at 3.

Finally click the Raw tab and scroll down to End Game State. Change that to either OutInABlazeOfGlory or LivedToFightAgain. Now save.

In the main menu of ME2, pick new game from an ME2 save, and select your just edited save game. If you did everything right, and selected the right save, you should see Liara in the opening cinematic as the Normandy goes down in flames.

All is well so far, Ive done all that and set Liara to 6 six (of course).

Im curious why I need to do this? I haven't finished the game yet, so it should be set to "Not finnished", shouldnt it?

When I start Mass Effect 2 and in the main Menu choose "New Game" I can only choose "Male" "Female" or "Use Save game from Mass Effect 1". There is not choice to create a new game from an ME2 game. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for the reply! =]

Or is it only possible to import a ME2 save game once you beaten the game???! And if so, can I flag the game as if it is beaten to get that option available or do I risk missing something by doing that?

I just want to close this thread by saying that I fixed it all =)

For others that have the same problem just follow Crunchyinmilk's instructions above, make sure you have the latest Gibbed Savegame Editor, or you wont have the options you need to change.

I am currently replaying my Femshep and just met Liara on Illum, instead of the previous dry meeting Liara gave my Gem Sheppard a big wet kiss... awww. Im so happy for them. Young love! ;)
