First, they build things to last.
Second, humans pollute and blow up everything they find.
Third, every race will eventually advance to the level of the Reapers (The Reapers solved this problem by harvesting regularly)
Fourth, by incorperating our biological genetic material they may actually be our salvation by allowing us to live forever.
Fifth, The squid like reapers don't hate the jellyfish ones because they are different.

I was trying to come up with a top ten list but only have 5 so far.  Any help would be great, I'm making a kind of outtake video to go with the movie.  I'll post more here if I can think of them...

1 Reason why they shouldn't win.
EVERYONE IN GALAXY WOULD BE DEAD, AGAIN!

Not everyone, worthy species like humans are seamlessly incorporated to  Reapers.

I'm sure if something goes wrong, there will be an ending where we lose to the Reapers. However, i doubt BioWare will let them win after a trilogy. They might as well of let them win in ME1.

True, I'm talking more philosophically.  It's the same debate cows have in the pasture.

That's not a very good reason.  Have you met anyone in the galaxy?

Wouldn't that be something, realizing at the end that regardless of what you do you lose.

I'm still hoping for an option to join the reapers and help them win.

Some people call me crazy for wanting an evil option in a video game...

You know cause its just pixels on the screen i'm crazy for wanting to destroy all life in a made up galaxy.

And what's evil differs greatly depending on where you were born.

One reason why they should win:

It just makes sense.

Eventually the galaxy will run out of resources to even sustain life, so becoming a living ship of humanity would be the best bet for the species to survive, or hell maybe even drift to a new galaxy and start repopulating on an inhabitable world there.

Tough luck turians, asari, salarians, krogans, and all you other less important species'.

And the number one and only reason why they will fail...

THEY DO NOT HAVE COMMANDER SHEPARD.

Enough said.

9th reason: they are big crafty jellyfishes.

One Shepard kills one reaper at a time, so we need more Shepards or it will be too long and Shepard will die of old age.

Forget what I said. :alien:

Galaxy is huge. Exactly how are you going to exhaust it ? Even with vigorous reproduction, it is farfetched.

Actually, they're cuttlefish.

Sovereign approaches.

Sovereign ready to fire.

10th reason: Most people tend to root for the bad guys. Anyone who says otherwise is a liar.

11th reason: IF shep dies in this suicide mission, we should be given the more abrupt climatic ending..

Why will the reapers lose? They are not Player Characters.

They are also cast as the villians.

Unless of course there is a TWIST ENDING!

Remember how they said ME 2 will affect ME 3?

I think the choice at the end is going to decide if they win or lose, just a feeling.

You've got how many sentient races known, hmm? Even if it takes a few thousand years, or even a million years, it isn't a stretch to know that what happened to the Drell homeworld will happen to other races on the different planets, of which in the entire galaxy how many are even capable of sustaining life? Things are finite in the galaxy, and the various races will continue to grow. Wars aside, without the reapers as a population check it will only get worse with time.

Not really.  They don't kill everyone when they harvest or humanity would have been killed off with the protheans.  And it is not really killing, they preserve the species as a reaper, so in a way it is giving them immortality.
