I do not see how you would put that on a Qunari

You're not using your imagination.

Imagine the Qunari sideways.

I don't see why the only way to have those is via Qunari.

A bat with a fade spirit inside it could result in a  werebat curse.

I agree

Horns do not exist in real life. They are make believe.

Therefor adding Horns is like adding Vampires.

I don't know where you would add them on a Qunari, but I don't think it would be impossible.

Now excause me but how do you imagine adding vampires on a qunari? Image IPB

Im talking about just adding vampires into the game period. I never said they have to be Qunari, though that would be cool.......if not disturbing.

Its just some people said there was some lore that would get retconned. Bioware retconned the Qunari, so that proves theyre capable of overthrowing a small bit of lore for the sake of something potentially awesome. They dont even have to retcon, they can think up of a reason, its Bioware.

I would hate to see all forms of vampires removed from fiction, movies and games, just because people hate the teen drama vampires so much; that they have forever given ownership of the word vampire, to the author of Twilight.

I don't mind some monstrous vampires. Hell, I just want any sort of monster variation. The Dragon Ages list of critters is very very short. I will welcome any sort of enemy that isn't a human bandit or a darkspawn/orc.

I swear, if I see another 200 bandit & darkspawn encounters, I'll welcome anything new, vampires, drow elves, anything!

Sorry but I really don't understand why you need the whole cap and bat thing. DA has vampires in several different forms. It's just that none of them are called vampires. They're blood mages, demons, abominations, ghouls ect. Is the name really that important?

Or is it because the werewolves so closely resembled their counterparts in other games/movies/lore?

No body gave it to her. Meyers stole it, shat on it and then decorated the insides of some unholy creature's lair with it.

I don't think anyone wants to touch it at this point.

Toolbot, it is true. I'm a big fan of vampires, Vampire: The Masquerade was damn near all I did or thought about for close to 7 years, but in the age of Twilight, I am shamed into staying clear of all vampire books/films/games/erotic massages. It just needs to die for a few years so someone can bring them back in a cool way. Right now they are oversaturated AND mostly crap, a bad combo for any genre.

It is not that I don't actually like vampires, just that Twilight is so pervasive, any vampire conversation has to start with the caveat "but not like that sparkling sissies crap in Twilight".

Vampires right now for the big screen are a no-go. But on smaller scale, like in video-games they can still show potential. Especially in M-rated games. Also Twillight havn't messed up all vampires for all of time. The series will be forgotten again soon enough. Twillight certainly didn't mess up the Vampires of Warhammer Fantasy.

There are people/creatures with vampire traits, but no vampires.

DAO had werewolves, is it so far fetched that there next mythological creature would be vampires? It would set it apart from LotR.

And Bioware can make there own version of it, as long as it isnt one of those shambling corpses. And that is called a vampire.

Never seen/read Twilight so that isn't really influencing my view. I'm just not very keen on having every stereotypical monster imported in every setting "because they're cool!" since this blurs differences between them and if overdone it feels like the writers are lacking imagination to come up with concepts of their own. DA already has plenty of stock elements as it is turning it further into a pastiche... just meh.

I want a weredragon.

Or a wereMaker. Imagine that.

The idea of vampires in Dragon Age doesn't sound horribly out of place. BioWare could convincingly blend them in if they so wished. That said, I'm worried about adding every single classic fantasy element into Dragon Age and turning it into a Fereldan style lamb soup which lacks novelty. It may sound cool at first to see our favorite fantastic creatures and other concepts in our favorite games, but there has to be a line to draw somewhere, otherwise it turns into "gee, yet another game with vampires, werewolves, sorcerers, orcs, Borgs and lightsabers." Werewolves and treants of Brecilian Forest had a somewhat acceptable excuse, but there's no need to go overboard.

Goes without saying that I mean no disrespect to original poster's wishes.

FORGET TWILIGHT!

What if DA2 is the series that makes vampires awesome again. And Oblivion had pretty good vampires.

Its okay, i can see your points.

If done right though in DA2, with the right blend and pacing, it could come out really good. Bioware can create some new stuff for other sections so its still original.

Actualy I have nothing against the idea. Vampires are one of the more decent mythical creatures if we forget about the recent fabulously sparkling ones.

But they're already in the game. They're just not called vampires.

Same, but we have to recognsie that vampires would be a bit redundant.
The Reaver spec (stealing lifeforce of others to heal oneself, induce terror) and blood magic (use life force for power, mind control) somewhat (not fully) replace the traditional vampire characteristics.

So if there is going to be a vampire like creature, it should be less traditional and more unique.
I think werebats are not that common, so maybe they can work. Then again, I am watching Garrgoyles, so maybe that's why.

No, there are no vampires in the game. Ther are things like vampires, but no vampires. A blood mage is not a vampire, it is a human (or elf) like you and me.

Blood mages, abominations, ghouls, ect.

It's like succubi and desire demons. It's the same thing just with a different spin and a slightly different name.
