Greetings! My name is ilidrake (known as The_Red_Mage on the nwvault). I've been watching this, and many other, threads for a while now. I'm an experienced module maker in regards to NWN and NWN2 and I have been rolling the idea around for BG3. I realize that Sawyer is supposedly making a module and that several people on here have posted the same. Yet I have in fact created a few modules, and have been involved in several freelance game projects using other engines. I am currently working on the story and design document for said module and I'm here simply to request any interested parties to join me.
I'm not here to promise this is the most epic module ever, or even that it will live up to the originals (I think that would be impossible). What I am suggesting after reading many of your posts is that we have a lot of talent here and I would like to create a team and create a module that we and many others can enjoy.
As for anyone wondering about license and all that rubbish I say nah. It will be a module based loosely on the original two games set about 80 years afterwards. The primary locale will be around Hillsfar and a few other towns and villages nearby. The only NPC from the original game that will make an apperance will be Imoen, and she will in fact play an important role in the entire game. Though players will not have to worry about the "I'm the child of Bhaal", plot. Personally I hate game hooks like that and am staying well away from it.
So, if your interested please email me at baldursgate3@live.com
I currently have openings for every possible position. Area construction, conversations, encounter builders, textures, modelers, music, sound, voices, etc...Of course you will need NWN2 and both expansions and be updated to patch 1.23
Thanks and cheers!!!

You'll soon find that while talent does exist here, gathering as a unified force hasn't ever really been a strong suit.

LOL I have noticed that. Of course you have to consider modules such as Purgatorio.

nope, sawyer abandoned his module a while ago so there never will be a black hound for nwn2, at least not from him. personally i would like to see bg3 created within the temple of elemental evil engine recreation project. my heart goes strong for those 2d background engines and troika built the best crpg engine out there with near 100% 3.5 rules integration and turn based combat.
anyway, i wish you good luck. you are now one of those thousand people in the last few years with the same goal... many failed^^

True. Many have failed, but I have finished many modules and projects before. It all boils down to good planning. So far the design document is coming along well and I simply need ppl with rookery experience to join me. It's not the worlds largest undertaking, as all the tools needed are there. I'm just asking for help from the talent pool. It's to large 4 one person to complete, I'll admit that. But a team of ppl could pull it off. I can't promise to do this unless there r ppl who wish to help me make it a reality. I'll give it about 6 months. If no one offers to help I'll simply chock it up to lose and move on. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. If nothing else I'll have a great story to play with my friends in a future d&d campaign.

No. They have released a beta version to the vault. It is quite good too. Though not completely polished at this point they continue to work on it. You have to give them some slack, people have lives outside our hobbies. Still though, there have been many great modules produced by the community. With the new engine it just takes more time. One person can do it alone, but a group is so much better. And quicker.

Lives outside of modding? You are preaching to the choir. I just havent heard anything about it. If you are going to do all that work on a project for years the least you can do is post here once in a blue moon and confirm its existence.
Thats assuming you want an audience for it when it comes out of course.
I would like a bg3 mod, especially if it was actually about the series, unlike the this black hound claimed to be, from what I hear. On re-reading, perhaps yours is not about the bhaalspawn either though.

It depends on how you look at it. It is about Bhaalspawn, it just won't be the player this time. As I said Imoen will be in this game and will play a pivotal role in events.
And please don't misunderstand me. I don't mean to imply that you yourself do not understand modding and the work involved. If I offended I apologize.
