Why does Legion utilise the scope on his sniper rifle?

I would expect geth to incorporate advanced optics into their synthetic visual sensors, probably more advanced and farseeing than the scope on a rifle manufactured by organics; and yet, our beloved Legion "looks" down the scope of his sniper rifle to see Shepard/kill adversaries.

Hell, why does he even use an organic-produced sniper rifle? Anyone who has played ME1 knows that geth sniper rifles are rather formidable.

Combat animations are the same across similar models.

Because it looks better?

It'd be weird looking if he went around shooting a Sniper Rifle (effectively) from the hip

It would give a whole new meaning to a "noscope", though.

Something he could brag about: 200,917 sniper kills on N7 Code of Honor: Medal of Duty - and he no-scoped them all.

Hell, if we're talking about logical inconsistencies for Legion, explain to me how is it that Legion, a synthetic race with NO blood or any kind of internal organs whatsoever, is affected by Medigel when you use the Unity power. :P

because the rifle optics are directly aligned to the bore of the weapon thus if he did not use them he would have to do complex trigonometry based on the position of the target and the position of the weapon's muzzle in relation to his own optic device. Ultimately I think it boils down to legion doesn't want to do math to kill people so he just uses the rifle sights.

He was an all-purpose geth platform model designed for the sake of easier infiltration in organic populations. And maybe because of that, he doesn't have programs designed to calculate and compensate for optical issues using a sniper rifle, hence the need to use the rifle's optics.

I wonder if this will open the possibility of us seeing dedicated geth combat platforms with inbuilt weaponry on their arms in ME3. I know we never see any of those in the human-size geths we fight, but they were heretics. However, the geth collossus was obviously designed like that.

"Geth do not infiltrate."
No, he is a single purpose internally networked platform built for the sole purpose of finding Shepard, who killed the Heretic's god.

Why does he wear a piece of N7 armor?

"Insufficient data"

The organic weapons might have been "borrowed" of some alliance marines on Eden Prime when his original geth weapons were damaged/lost when he got shot and almost destroyed. After all, Shepard picks up any weapon lying around...

Shepard: "Why are you using organic weapons, Legion?"

Legion: "We used up all ammo stores in self-defense. We had to scavenge around and use the human's crap weapons"

Wrex: "I'm startin' to like ya, chrome dome..."Posted Image
