If you are experiencing the following:
(1) Your framerate remains high and most animations are fluid, but
(2) Sometimes the ground animates choppily while your character walks around the game world. This is particularly noticible on new (fast) hardware, in cases when you have left your computer on for a long time since you last shut it down or restarted it.
...then you may be experiencing a known NWN2 bug that the Client Extension has a fix for. This bug relates to a rounding issue in the game's internal timer system that accumulates increasing inaccuracies the longer that the computer has gone without a reboot. Animation quality may degrade faster on higher speed processors, thus this issue is most noticible on newer hardware.
To resolve this issue, use the Client Extension when playing the game. As a workaround that does not involve the Client Extension, you can reboot your computer before playing NWN2 once the issue becomes noticible.
Note: This is not a general fix for low performance issues caused by underpowered graphics hardware, but only the specific conditions listed above. This issue is not specific to a particular video card manufacturer.
