The other day I went to log on here, Bioware Social network, and I decided to watch a couple of videos before I did so. I saw something curios in one of the clips: Miranda was using an assault rifle, even though the only weapons I've ever seen her use in the game are a submachine gun or a pistol.

Does anyone know how this is possible?

Two explanations:

1) In certain cutscenes Miranda uses an assault rifle.

2) On the PC version (possibly on Xbox too) you can mod your squadmates' weapon loadouts.

you can modify files to let Miri use that gun. otherwise, it's impossible. yeah, I think that something wrong with cut scenes. even I had matt, cut scene showed basic assault rifle? what the hell? that should be changed, depended on what kind of weapon you carry now.

I know the cutscenes during the Suicide Mission showed the several characters using the assault rifle you start the game with, even though several don't use assault rifles and I know that I didn't have that model equipped for anyone.

I am sorry, the murder weapon was an assault rifle. You are out of the game.

Maybe if you wanted to banned from live for this life the 3 next ones. I'd say no though, modding is something for PC.

Why would you banned for modding a single player game? Are you implying that you'd report yourself?

Yes, and some people don't have a "Clue" as to where that quote came from.

And now for my daily moment of stupidness. How do you mod your squad's weapons?

Are you on XBOX? Go to the link in the bottom of my signature, don't let all the text intimidate you, the process is ridiculously easy, and once you know where things are, modding simple things like weapons, abilities, credits, resources, Appearance, gender, ME1 plot flags can take less than a minute, from beginning to end. Any questions just post in that thread, or PM me.

After 10+ playthroughs, there's no way I'm ever wasting time to hack Credit Chits, or scrounge for money, and most certainly not any Planet scanning

No, sorry, I pretty much only ever use PC (I hate those god-damned controlers).

As for the other things you said, I stopped scanning planets on my third playthrough.

Yeah, you think the bullet holes would be a give away.

Sure, easiest way I think is to use the modified gibbed saved editor. Skill/Upgrades enable bonus weapon. You can get the Revenant too.
