Honestly, it was a huge disappointment and got slammed by the major reviewers (which should tell you something is normally they rate too high). If you romanced Morrigan, yeh, you'll like the ending.

For me, it broke the continuity even more -- they do not have the timeline straight at ALL, even on the map. Does it happen one year after Origins as it says on the product page, 2 years after the mother dies as it says if you mouse over Amaranthine, or years after the Archdemon dies as it says if you mouse over Denerim?

It left more questions than it answered. And combat is so ridiculously easy... I played through it twice. One of the characters I imported ended up not having armor (NBD as she had been wearing modded armor) and was, ummm, level 23 I believe. There was no armor in the game to be had (rogue), yet I still easily beat it on nightmare, naked.

This. Even though 1.1 fixes most bugs. it's still a shallow shell of what the ads promised. :bandit:

My thoughts.

It wraps up the Warden's story only if the Warden is romancing Morrigan and elects to follow her. For all others it leaves their story unfinished (not too bad if you romanced Zevran or Leli and had the Awakening ending with you going off to be with them, but lousy for anyone who had the "disappeared" ending after Awakening.

The DLC itself recycles locations so don't expect to see anything new. I had a few laughs at the books in the Circle and various overheard conversations and banters, but once you've experienced those, there's not a great deal beyond a dungeon crawl. There's not a lot of challenge for a maxed out Warden but if you're more about the story that won't bother you unduly.

It is enjoyable. It's just unfortunate it came out around the same time as Lair of the Shadow Broker, which is terrific. Witch Hunt just doesn't compare to the last two DLCs for ME2.

I was pretty disappointed ... and I'm not generally critical of DLC ... I liked Warden's Keep for example.

But: No real answers to questions

Shallow new NPC followers - no real dialogue with them

Rehashed sites

Non-demanding combat (except the last fight, but it was less demanding than tedious)

No loot worth mentioning

It really depends on what you want.

I liked it. It was fairly story-focused, and it had some interesting things going for it. My character I played it with had done the Ritual and had Morrigan as a friend, and I thought the ending worked out well for that. I wasn't expecting any sort of real or detailed answers, so I was content with vague hints.

My main problem was the almost complete lack of conversation with the NPCs, which was especially too bad because they both seemed to me as though they would be fairly interesting if you got the chance to speak with them.

If you're looking for challenging combat, then you won't find it. It's very, very easy, or at least it was for me. I don't believe I had to reload once, and most fights were over within a few minutes (including the end fight). And that was on Nightmare, so I can only assume it's even easier on lower settings.

It does let you make at least one major-seeming choice, and I think there's a pretty good chance that choice will effect something down the road.

Only if you romanced Morrigan should you get Witch Hunt.

Playing a female character, as a I typically do, and thus being automatically excluded from forming a relationship meaningful enough with Morrigan to have a decent ending (apparently), I was quite disappointed. While the two new companions that travel with you are quite cool, and I enjoyed adventuring with them, the ending was so sudden and unsatisfying, and there was so little of Morrigan, that my annoyance with the conclusion has kinda sullied the whole thing for me. I have never felt jipped by Bioware before - it's a novel experience.

At least the Dark Ritual bug is fixed now, anyway.

I also...got it because I thought I could finally kill that selfish **** and Bioware chickens out. Great way to ruin a DLC.

Totally not worth getting. Incredibly easy, more new questions than answers.

Yeah, I thought the timeline issues were a bit wonky.  Then again, I thought the timeline was rather wonky even in the first game, what with Wynne telling me it's been nearly a year since I left the tower, even though by all indications Duncan took me straight to Ostagar from the tower and the Broken Circle quest was the first main quest I did.

That kind of implies that you were promised you'd be able to kill her, which I don't think was ever the case.  Besides, the devs have stated that Morrigan's story isn't over, which kind of precludes ending her life right there.

It is only relevant if you romanced Morrigan or participated in the dark ritual. If you have a large amount of characters or your canon character did either of the above then yea probably. If your similar in that you only 2 characters that romanced and participated in the dark ritual out of 22, and your canon character chose to minimize Morrigan's role in the story, then not so much. I did buy it because i was told i was able to kill Morrigan, with out ruining anything for you, it was a bit anticlimactic. Supposedly you should be able to import the warden's decision set to influence the DA2 world but so far the epiloge saves have been a bit sketchy.

You really take game character hate, to a whole new level.

I really love you Morrigan fans, who at the hint of someone not liking Morrigan want to get all butt hurt. My god i thought the Tali-mancers were bad but the Morrigan fans are slowly catching up. I gave an honest opinion because i thought the OP asked an honest question.

You can be sad, glad, mad whatever, everything in my reply is correct. WH does only matter if you involved Morrigan in your story in any way, romance or dark ritual. Other than that WH has NO relevance to a character who booted Morrigan from the party in Lotharin and refused the dark ritual when offered. That as difficult as that maybe for you to accept is the only truth. As for my Morrigan hate i am disappointed in that even the option to kill Morrigan was not really a finish to her story. I was also disappointed in that the Morrigan character took a turn from an adversary i loved to hate to a silly lost little girl who killing felt like crushing the head of a helpless mewling kitten, WTF was that all about i was robbed of that small satisfaction. The amount of pity Bioware heaped on the Morrigan character in WH is a serious let down, she is more of a helpless victim trying to escape Flemeth, boo fricken hoo. My biggest fear is that the game will force me in some way to assist Morrigan and that will be the day i stop playing DA entirely. Like it or lump it there is the honest answer to what i took as an honest question, the chips will fall where they may.

Yes, yet it still is a very poor design choice. Whatever you do, Morrigan will survive and will enter the portal...that's downright lazy.

edit: Just read the above post and fully agree. Morrigan is a selfish and unresponsible creature who should either leave the world forever or should be killed as soon as possible. As long as she is alive, Flemeth can still take her body thus she is an even bigger threat. I will never support that worthless scum and if Bioware should ever force me to do so, Dragon Age is history for me.

I don't really like or dislike Morrigan. I've not done her romance. I thoroughly enjoyed this DLC. Maybe I'm weird.
