Decided to atempt a PW yesterday.

Firstly, what do I need to know before running an NWN server?

Secondly, my PW shall be insipred by Dragonfable, in a world that keeps on changing. Like a minor update every week, and a major change or update of quests every month. In a world that keeps on changing, an NPC could be murdered. An NPC could decide to relocate to a differernt area. The main city could be attacked and almost completely destoryed. etc etc. Am I way out of my league?

Thirdly, like Dragonfable, there won't be any dungeons but rather quests that are like "levels" So when you accept a quest, you'll be taken to the area in which the quest takes place.

I want it like WoW instances, in which when you enter the dungeon (or quest in my case) the only people you see around you are those in your group. Anyone else who enters the dungeon will not see you, and any monsters you fought, will be still there for them. Is that possible?

If not, then how can I just have the quest reset (all dialoge and monsters included) everytime no one is inside it.b

In nwn you can't recreate the "instance system" of WoW, the only thing that you could do is to create a lot of copies of the dungeon and then teleport each party to one of them. You could use a "reset area" script, like you said. You can find a lot of these scripts in nwvault (for example this one: http://nwvault.ign.c....Detail&id=1903).

My answer to the other 2 questions... you only need to know a little the nwn toolset to do that ;)

Not to be a curmudgeon but to be honest this effort will be extremely difficult if not impossible except for the most seasoned of scripters. To really do it right that is, as you envision it. Better, imo, would to be to use one of the pre-designed pw's on the Vault, and then customize it, adding in other systems you like. Proceeding slowly as you add areas and quests. Not giving at least a modicum of xp for kills is, once again imo, not worth the effort, though I know some worlds do it, and do it fairly well. I have made two PW's one of which I worked on for four years, 'Second God War', and the other one which I am working on now for over 2, 'Orilion Nights'.

I am not trying to dissuade you but just being brutally hones. Good Luck.
