My game keeps crashing on illium when i go thru the passageway underneath Liara's Office. Does it closer to the corner of the hall, not beginning. Happens everytime i play it with my infilitrator character. 3rd playthrough. I went back to my 2nd play thru where i didn't do Lair of shadowbroker yet, and i was able to run through the passgeway fine. Haven't tried original playthrough though where i did complete Lair of the Shadowbroker. Running game on a windows 7 pc. Anyone else have happen? Any Suggestions? I uninstalled and reinstalled game, but it did not help, i also did restart Illium mission from the load screen and just rushed to the passageway, that didn't work either. on current playthrough just got to illium after first collector mission on HOrizon.
Game Crash Illium, help plz

Hi,
Had the same issue last night and have just found a work around. Not a full fix, but hopefully will work for you as well.
From ingame options set you screen mode to "Windowed without boarder" then give the door a go.
No idea what caused the issue. Guess will have to set to windowed everytime I want to go that part of Illium. Still isn't so bad if you shirk you task bar.

Seems like you can set back to full screen right after you pass through the hall without a problem.
I went through in windowed mode, set it bacck then run through another 5 times both ways and all fine.

Stuarj you legend!
Worked for me. Exact same issue... after I played LOSB game crashed every time I passed through that area of the game. Setting window mode to "windowed without border" worked perfectly.
Cheers.

stuarj1s fix worked for me too. Thanks man!! I am pretty tech-savvy, but this is the kind of thing I don't think I would ever have thought to try....it seems to have improved my frame rate too, playing in this mode, believe it or not....

I just started having this problem today. Only difference between now and the 5000 times I have gone through that hallway before, is I just installed the Garrus/Thane/Jack appearance DLC. I mean like 5 minutes before, installed it, restarted, and bang bang bang crashes every time I try going through that hallway. I need to give that salarian his family info, what a pickle! I'll try windowed mode and see if that helps, but I'm guessing there must be some sort of software fix that needs to be done?
*UPDATE* I tried it in windowed mode, and made it through ok
Done deal, but I'd still like to know if there is an official fix for this?

Also am having this problem, Have all DLC installed except for the appearance packs. Seems to work if I let the random audio ad play through completely before going through the hall. Annoying as hell.

Just wanted to add to an old topic.. I had this same issue and managed to figure out the window mode thingy myself. I got two points to add into this topic.. Generally, ALL games work better in window mode (doesnt have to be borderless, you know) and secondly, only reason I (or anyone else should) use fullscreen is ATI Crossfire. It doesn't work in window. So, if you have a dual GPU setup, use fulscreen if possible.

Kinda a known issue with the dlc and Illium. Only real known workaround is to play in window mode to get through the tunnel. Some say getting rid of dynamic shadows helps, others reinstall helps, but all say windowed mode works. I don't know if anything was ever found to be "it" on this, but you can get through the area if you need to.

Turning Dynamic Shadow off does help.
