I am wondering how ammo powers help when you do such high damage that it erases a defense completely and applies also for the underlying health. This is especially important for widow shots.
Say you do 100 normal weapon damage + 50 from disruptor ammo,
the enemy has 75 health and 75 shield.
Is 50 disruptor deducted first from shield, then the "normal" damage applied so that this would be a one-shot-kill?
Or is first applied the "normal" damage and then disruptor useless, since the normal damage erases the shield and the disruptor ammo has no effect on health?
Or is there a mix-calculation, so that ot would not be a one-shot-kill either?
I am thinking about this because I want to get away from warp ammo, which does not have this problem, since it damages everything.

Second post down. Shotguns kind of bypass this by virtue of how they function. Since they use 8 pellets you can manage to get the effects of your ammo powers on both defenses and health due to the pellets hitting and thus making their damage calls at separate times.
