Another vote for the battle of the Citadel.

ME2 was much more technically polished than ME1, but for me, it never quite reached the same epic heights of awesome that marked the first game. I figure that's because of the way ME2 is designed, with much more emphasis on personal matters than galaxy-spanning problems. No doubt ME3 will correct this.

My most epic ME2 experience would have to be the ending of Shadow Broker, when Liara achieves apotheosis! But that's really Liara's greatest moment as opposed to Shepard's greatest moment.

Too many to count. But I single two out, one plot-related and one character-related:

Plot-related:
The dialogue with Sovereign/Nazara on Virmire. In the space of a few minutes, the whole universe changed and grew by a factor of 10, and strings of unconnected facts suddenly made sense.

Character-related:
Liara: "What do you fight for? The future of humanity, as evidenced by the perfect Ms. Lawson?"
I wish Shepard had a more emphatic answer to that than the one we're shown. "She has her issues, but I trust her" just doesn't cut it.

Hm. The one thing that touched me most was... actually not something that Shepard did but one of the Emails: Guardian Angels, by Oriana Lawson, Miranda's sister.

Followed by Tali crying over the body of her father and Shepard holding her.

Everything mentioned thus far are great moments, to be sure. The most vivid moment for me is after the first segment of the suicide mission. I'd sent Tali into the vents and had Garrus leading the fire team. When we all came through that door and were holding off the Collectors while Tali tried to get that door closed, I was holding my breath. When it finally slammed shut, my first reaction was "That. Was. AWESOME!"

The epicness didn't stop. My heart stopped when Tali slid off that platform, only to catch the edge with her fingers, then my Shepard hauled her back up....then my Shepard almost missed the Normandy only to be hauled onboard by Tali. It was so epic, I was grinning the rest of the night....and THEN, I got to tell off TIM.

Ahhh....good times.

I have to say ONE of my most favorite moments: Mordin singing Gilbert and Sullivan....holy crap I don't think I've laughed that hard in a looooong time, that was completely and utterly unexpected. I admit...my jaw dropped for a good 3 seconds and then the laughing commenced. Good times right there. Crazy salarians.

Mordin rules..... I mean, come on, the guy gives Shepard the "safe sex" chat!

talking to Vigil I think really is the thing that may not be the most spectaculiar it was certainly the most remembrable for me. I just didn't want to leave and keep asking it more, very much like Liara you got such a wealth of information right there and that sad story told so calm and distant, goosbumps material for me.

Also a good one is the first time you hit the mass relay in ME1 as said above it is really that trekkie feeling of pointing the finger and say enage.

Last for me is the revieling of the normandy SR2 had seen it before plenty of times, but it was just awesome and each time I see that thing I just feel happy.

Going to agree with what a lot of people are saying and vote for the conversation with Sovereign on Virmire. The music fit so perfectly, and I loved Sovereign's lines, he comes across as so menacing. The whole Battle of the Citadel is awesome, too.

In ME2, it'd be the 'end run' where Shep & team run through the Collector base to get to the SR-2 after destroying the Human-Reaper. Harbinger doesn't reach Sovereign's levels, but I still like his dialogue in the end run.

The revealing of the SR-2 was fantastic, it really was. I was all like "Watch out, Reapers!" and then danced through my new personal little dollhouse for the next two hours changing clothes and dying armor and annoying Joker.

Shepard's death was also really tragic the first few times I saw it. And then the rebirth scene was great--the music was very beautiful, and I'm disappointed I wasn't allowed to steal Feron's future iPad thing to play in my room.

The speech in ME1 right after you get the SR-1 is always fantastic. That was my first real "hell yeah!" moment about the dialogue wheel. I really appreciated having a voiced character then.

I loved running around Hock's personal treasury (seething all the while about Lady Liberty's head and cracking up about David's censoring), and the Paragon interrupt for the Crime In Progress mission was great, just because Paragons never get angry. I loved talking with Garrus at the end of his Loyalty Mission, especially if you didn't let him kill Sidonis.

EDIT: Oh, yeah, and the whole "the stars look back" thing at the end of the game, with the Reapers lighting up and coming for the Galaxy. Hell yeah that was great. B)

you know of what i speak :) lol.  "ahh i swear it was glorious" (quoting Ratch on tuchanka. love that line :)

oh and also this isnt to you specifically angler lol just in general as someone already stated when sovereign makes it inside the citadel arms like after they close and they cut to the longer shot with his arms extending the music at that part is so sinister and piercing if you will. its almost like you have to ask yourself "can we really beat them". i say almost cause most of us are just like kick A**!!! lol :)

Gotta be the revelation of the Normandy SR 2, the reunion with Wrex/Garrus/Tali, calling in for the Alliance to save the Ascension and can't forget the one that I enjoyed the most - blowing the Collector base up.

I would have to agree with you Breakdown Boy.  The first time I did this mission it was kind of rough to have to think about if this were real, how would my character respond to walking around the final resting place of many of her former crew.
