Hello everyone.

I have been working a ton of hours and have not had much time to do CC when I get home.

Last night I decided to do a quick model and figured helms fall into the "fast" category.

Critiques welcome.

I will probably end up making 3-5 helms. Just something to keep me modeling until my RL job slows down and I can get back to bigger projects.

Nice. If you feel like doing some Asian hats, I could certainly use them. They seem to be fairly straightforward and they would make a huge difference in the visual style of my campaign:

And I certainly wouldn't mind seeing some Persian, Arabian and Indian head gear. I love the Centurion and gladiatorial look to those, by the way.

I like it. Small critique the area the "hugs' the head seems a bit too well fitted for metal. Looks like it was "grafted" to the guys skull. Perhaps a bit more bulk would be correct there?

Also I was watching "A Knights Tale" the other night. There were a few nice helms there that I think would look good here also. Some helms with spikes or horns would be great also if you are in the mood.

As always love your stuff!

Cool. Are you going to do an alpha for feathers on the plume, or is it going to be solid?

Can I say WOW just one more time without it losing that special 'punch' of amazement?

WOW!

The texture is just sick! not sure if you thickened around the head or not but it has the appearance of it from those angles (trying to look at the right image close for it). Very Nice!

Awesome, as always with RWS :) Those helmets will be a must have in many PW, I guess. At least in ours ^_^

I have been resisting doing that... but.. I .. might ..

No, No, must resist a full on 300 helm!    Ok.. maybe just 1 variant.. maybe.

if you are into custom gear, I liked a lot the cowl and mage robe in DAO :) Very original and mage like.

That spartan helmet is very cool :) Can't wait to have it in my mod hehe

Ugh.. not the fugly DA:O cowls.... I ended up not wearing them at all. Me... a power gamer at heart... Most robes were terrible as well. And don't even get me started on staffs worn on backs during movement. Couldn't play a mage because they looked like they escaped from a circus or something.

Anyway, these helms are great. Like all the stuff you do, I guess.

Heh... **uses his most seductive voice**

"Go on... you know you want to..."

A couple of minutes work and boom, two helms for the price of... well ok 1 and a half helms for the price of one. Hell id go and after scultping the base 'clean' helm id make a super etched and engraved masterwork version (which is something I do with my models, 1 regular and then one 'masterwork', 'posher' version). 90% of the ground works done to begin with after all.

Very cool! I heard it is even more difficult to create clothe headgear; such as a sheik's turban or a tuareg's turban with a fully covered face. Is that true?

Absolutely false :P ... where on earth did you hear that?. For an example look at the OC Chain helm with the chainmail veil on it in the Toolset. The helm like hair, gloves, boots, belts, body, cloaks... is weighted to the base skeleton, hek you could weight it so when the wearer speaks the veil (or ninja mask) moves with the jaw movements etc

Semi transparent veils would be an issue but could be worked around by making them lacey rather than see through.
