Well Chris said that they were working on a program to check whether people actually signed for the newsletter or not.

Yes, that's true, but it won't do us much good if it's not functional before the end of the month (sign-up deadline). I guess we'll see, but I don't think this is a high priority task for BioWare - which is fair enough, because at the end of the day, it's just an extra item.

Some people are saying they have their code for the staff already. But I haven't seen any emails my side. Are they just blowing smoke or have I not signed up properly????

Are there problems with the signing up process? Well, obviously. Read the thread. If you signed up for the newsletter prior to this month, then the problem is affecting you as well - follow Chris Priestly's instructions in the first post. If you sign up for the newsletter this month, you'll receive the code next month.

I got my code last weekend.
I believe I signed up in early-mid September.

Well, it arrived yesterday in my spam folder. So far most of the DA newsletters I've gotten have come about 4-5 days after the news they were giving was "Breaking" so I can only assume that there's some sort of lag with delivering them. Oh well, at least it came.

Does anybody but me find it absolutely hilarious that the staff in question is actually pointing at where to sign up to get it?

Haven't got mine and I'm using the right one.

I don't have my code yet, despite getting the newsletter since FOR EVER. *Sob* Bioware clearly doesn't love me. And you know, it's kind of ironic - I am constantly getting invitations to join the WoW Cataclysm beta if only I'd verify my Battlenet account details - and I don't even have a Battlenet account.

Doesn't anyone else see a pattern here?
Those who signed up later got their codes first, and those of us who signed up earlier will be getting it later. I expect the codes are being sent off in order of sign up date.
So, if you signed up on day 1, expect to be at the tail end of the mailing list.

You don't know that for sure. They could just as well be sending them alphabetically or by email service provider.

Any update or ETA on this? I tried the old, out-of-date one, but the Dragon Age part of it is gone now. I still have yet to receive any kind of correspondence about Dragon Age except for an announcement of Witch Hunt coming out, even though I have signed up several times in several different ways since August. (And yes I have checked my spam folders)Chris Priestly wrote...
3 - We are working on a system to allow users to test their sign up to ensure they get the newsletter and teh Staff of Parthalan code. tThis will take a day or so to get working, but we will let you know when it is up and running.
If one of the signups this month took hold, then I realize I will have to wait until November (which is fine), but it would be nice to be able to check on it.
I concur for an ETA update

I've clear my cookies and signed up a couple of time just to make sure. Chris's instructions say that theres a signup box in the upper right corner of the screen but its in the middle. It isn't very encouraging if even Bioware don't know how there website works.

I signed up for another newsletter for another game and you get the e-mail reply to verify your address etc with a link to confirm it all. Why couldn't they use this as it was another EA game that I signed up to!!
Most newsletter/sign up via e-mail systems now use this type of anti robot/spam function. Bioware evidently DON'T.

I signed up for the newsletter when the code thing was announced first, I checked my EA account and was correctly signed up. I've redone it since to confirm, I even have a newsletter from August 22. But still no code. I'm guessing I'm not along but it would totally suck if people missed out on this for some silly error.

I really don't understand why they did this in the first place. The only reason I can think of is so that people would have a "good" reason to sign up for the newsletter. The only way originally that people would of heard about this promotion, however, is from attending the Games Conferences or watching the Destiny Trailer until the very end.
The only things that people get from those Dragon Age Newsletters are updates on the DLC. In which case anyone who actually knew how to sign up for this promotional item likely already knows about the DLC for DA:O and DA:O-A.
Since they said there are only 50 000 codes to be given out it really doesn't seem to make much sense as to why they did this. 50 000 codes implies that one would want to sign up before they run out, giving the "masses" a reason to rush and sign up. Therefore that means they likely wanted a large sum of people to sign up, but why? As I stated above it is very likely that most of the people that actually knew how to sign up for the Dragon Age newsletter would already be notified about all the DLC.
It does not make sense that they would create this promotional item just so a few people would sign up to the newsletter and find out about DLC they happened to miss or not hear of. So does anyone know, perhaps a BioWare developer, why they did this?
