Has anyone heard/seen any stats on the Staff? Are we getting all worked up over something we know nothing about? I think if Bioware said we could sign up for Nug Warrior Armor we would all be just as mad if we couldn't get it. It's obviously a marketing strategy, probably to keep interest going in the upcoming game, but they really screwed up when they announced it before they got all the bugs out of the newsletter. I said earlier in this topic, Bioware should just make it available for anyone who wants it and put the code on the website. Too many glitches can happen when you're dealing with e-mail.

Is anyone else getting an error when they try to like Dragon Age 2 on facebook from the homepage on the DA2 website?

I don't even care if it sucks. Even if its the worst weapon in the game I'll use it, just cause it looks so awesome!

I do have some sympathy for Bioware - clearly they never expected problems on this scale with connecting newsletter sign-ups with e-mails with game codes...

...so speaking as someone who has signed up twice for the newsletter but received damn all, I'll keep the faith for a bit. Hell, I'll even pre-order DA2 once I have that nice shiny code in my inbox. That's a fair trade, right? :P

The stats were not that impressive. The  staff you can buy in awakening is better. But a download code for a free staff is allways good.

Not yet but its 'been in your family'  so if its available at the start then the stats will be low.

But additionally its said its a 'legendary item' so perhaps you don't have it initially and proves to be an awesome weapon you regain later on.

I agree that the wording was atrocious since nobody deserves anything. However, I see this as slightly different than the SE situation. I do think the staff code should just be made available to everyone on the boards. Not because of entitlement or anything absurd like that, but because the current system is defective.

Yeah, maybe--it's a shame that it's not working for so many people.

I like the idea of not having it initially. I think it would be much better as a quest to retrieve it from a family cache or something along those lines.

If we do end up having it from the start it will only be like the blood dragon plate... Your stats will have to meet the requirements before you can equip it.

I found a cookie related to the Dragon Age 2 newsletter, deleted it and it let me sign up again. Hopefully this one will work.

Did the same here as I never got the code even though I signed up as soon as the option was on the page. Not holding my breath for it to happen next time round either

It's not like anyone forces you to use it, you know. I like the idea of receiving the bloody code already sometime (that's a hint, Bioware).

People, please calm down and have a little more faith in the team. They told us they were working on it, so let them. I'm sure that given how upset you are now, they definitely don't want to face you in November and say, "Sorry, no staff for you". How 'bout we give them a bit longer to prove themselves?

I'm just going to immortalize this post so that if need be, I can use it against you in the future.  :P

Hey I'm just glad the voice of reason isn't being torn apart ^_^. Largely ignored is more like it . Oh well, I can handle ignored. Or an 'I-told-you-so'.

I want the Staff too man, I'm just wondering why we're all going crazy about a staff we have barely any information about. Someone mention Nug Warrior Armor? Yeah. Great parallel.

Heh, well... if they're handing out 50,000 codes, it's not like most people even visit this thread. Those who do tend to be the vocal ones though. ;)

I don't even know if I signed up for the Staff the right way. It just leads me back to my social.bioware account saying it's been updated as if I had just joined. Forgive me for my computer stupidity people, I've been, well, not paying attention to certain aspects of things lately.

But I want that Staff! *makes sad face*

This might sound stupid, but why don't they add the staff to the Signature Edition? Although that could result in people get the staff twice.

I still think it would be easier just to give everyone a code who has the original Dragon Age registered.

Maybe they could make the staff like Death's scythe from Darksiders

I say just make a DLC quest and have the Staff be one of the spoils. Or maybe put the code with the Signature Edition and you can redeem it from the main menu, and when you hit new game you've got it in your inventory

I somehow ended up getting the staff by using my UNUSED Mass Effect Collector's Code in today.

Was only planning to put in the code because expiration was coming soon, and ended up witht he staff instead.

So, maybe I'll get Dragon Age 2 just to see if its as kickass as everyone says it is.

I signed up about a month ago so I decided to check in...I can't find the sign-up on the website anymore and I checked my subscriptions at accounts.bioware.com/my_account/nsl.html but the DA newsletter isn't listed.
Is it...too late now? :(

No it's not too late you can still get the staff if you sign up before november. Apparently the page where you check your accounts wasn't revelant to the dragon age newsletter so they took it off their. If you can't see the sign up on the main page it should mean your signed up. If your lucky you get the staff in november. Until then were all waiting for bioware to come up with a way to see if were signed up for the newsletter.

I don't remember when you could sign up for the newsletter.. Was it really back in July?

Anyway, I think I will have to review my earlier statement about "first on the list, last to get the e-mail" situation, I think the system just got muddled up after a certain date.

OR, did Bioware mail out all 50,000 codes to them folks as signed up later than us?

*suspicious glare*
