Nothing to update - there isn't anything going on. It's safe to assume that the tool either got scratched or simply didn't make it in time. It won't do anyone any good on Monday (1st of November), as you can't change your status if you happened to miss something during the sign-up process. Next Monday the tool would only tell you that you're not going to get anything, or that you're indeed going to get the staff. Meaningless answers.

Just hope you got everything right and will be one of the people to receive an email sometime next month.

why don't you read the post you quoted? (the dev-post)

In November, you either get the item (newsletter worked), or you use whatever option the tool will provide and get the staff immediately. in any case: we will get the staff before the game comes around (march). So getting upset now is kinda premature.

It would have been a better idea to use the same method used for the hindsight belt for this staff as well. Hopefully BW learns from this.

FYI Google Chrome doesn't display the hindsight page properly, the upper part of it isn't visible. Had to use the Mickeysoft IE to see the clicky. Now that the hindsight registration part worked (not so sure of the newsletter registration, didn't get any confirmation this time around, either) can you just go ahead and add a Staff clicky page, too? Preferably one that doesn't require one to use IE.

I'm not upset about it, forum posts just doesn't convey emotions. I was just stating the facts, so not much emotion there at any rate.

I've read Fernando Melo's post. As I understood it, you'll be able to get the item using the tool (IF it gets released) if you've signed up for the newsletter before the deadline (this month's end). The tool won't allow you alter your sign-up status once that deadline has passed. The reason why the sign-up option is even mentioned is because they thought that they could get the tool released before the deadline.

So if your sign-up isn't registered for some reason, you're not going to get anything after the deadline. Not unless BioWare decides to change their mind about the deadline again, in which case feel free to ignore my last two posts.

back when the Staff was announced, they made it pretty clear that they want (WANT) us to have this item. If this was a simple matter of "sign up until the deadline and get it, or don't" they wouldn't continue working on it. Deadline is over, technical issues prevented some people from getting it, too bad, so sad ..., instead, they tell us this:

If it's really so, then it's good for everyone, but...

First they said it was only 50,000 vouchers being handed out (changed into free-for-all), then they said that the sign-up deadline is October 31st, and now they're basically telling me to forget everything they've said before(?)

I don't know. I guess I'll see how it actually turns out in November.

Mjeh, signed up all the way back in august aswell, im guessing they are gonna find some solution, bad mojo otherwise - Been all around the pages trying to confirm i was signed up, signed up a couple of times, just signed up again for the belt, and got it, so i don't see what else can be done

Wonder if it is the only bladed staff, because if it isn't I probably shouldn't care about this so much. Just started following the instructions, verifying the account and such, removing cookies and resubscribing to the newsletter. Now just have to wait...

They showed Hawke with another bladed staff in the Rise To Power trailer, so no. All staves may be upgradeable for melee, since Bethany's "driftwood" staff doesn't have a blade on the end.

I'm thinking that new staff might be Apostate's Courage from the Signature Edition, but there's no way to be sure at this point. At any rate I re-signed up for the newsletter as well, in order to get the Penny Arcade promo belt.

I received mine on Oct 1st. So I guess I just hold onto the email (Which contains the code) until March 8th 2011, when the game is launched? Or is there a way to register the code early, like I did the Hindsight Belt?



So, can someone advise me on which one is the correct one, or maybe both are correcct???

Now this is wierd I resignend up for the newsletter for the new hindsight belt promotion and checked my registered game promotions and hindsight is registered but not the staff. This after applying for it at the start, then again with google chrome after a long period of inactivity, Made sure my account was verrified at the US EA site then sigened up again before this recent promotion. Still not their although I did recieve an email about the signature addition awhile back but have as of yet any mention of the new rise to power trailer. I can only hope that my case will be resolved by november or i'll need the the tool their working on.

I think tomorrow I'll call EA customer support and pester CSRs until I get the thing added to my "registered game promotions." Waiting for these guys to fix this episode of the Three Stooges seems to be an exercise in futility.

I wonder if this whole Staff of Parthalan fiasco is what prompted them to develop the much improved system they're using for the Hindsight Belt.

ETA: OR! The Hindsight Belt was crafted specifically in order to test the new system. If this is true, I approve.

yea i hope I can still get it. the only mail i have gotten from dragon age or bioware was the witch hunt dlc mail, da 2 trailer and Discover the Secrets of Amgarrak. ill just wait till the next newsletter hopefully it will be there.
