I don't really mind waiting, as long as we get it before the game launches. It's not like you could use the code now, so what's the rush?
The rush is on account of the October 31st "drop dead date." If you aren't signed up for the thingie by that date, well...
It is not so much that we are in a hurry to get the staff, it is that we're in a hurry to receive confirmation that we're signed up correctly. Many of us signed up when this thing was first announced on Twitter during a convention, and we should have had the code by now, more than a month ago. The fact that we don't is creating anxiety.
Additionally, we get promises of fixes and website confirmation tools that turn out to be completely hollow. This leads us to become concerned that this is something that will simply be blown off. The attitude, combined with some of the bug issues that have plagued Awakening and the DLCs, raise questions about the DA quality control standards and the teams commitment to customer satisfaction. Some people might even look at this circumstance and consider canceling their pre-orders and waiting a month or two to buy the game, perhaps until the first big patch is released.
That's what the rush is about.

I'm starting to think this is something I did, rather than something they've done.

- We continue to work on a tool that will allow you to verify if you're signed up correctly, and get the item.
This will confirm you are signed up (or allow you to sign up) and either...
a) re-send you the code email at your request
show the code to you / allow you to redeem it straight away
c) just add the item to your account automatically
Either way, this will be resolved well before DA2 comes around and in a way that everyone will definitely get their item. {smilie}

Sounds like Hindsight to me, yet Chris says that is not happening. Miscommunication? Change in their decision on the handling of their screw up and not telling us? Both staples of an untrustworthy corporate culture.
Beside if option c is an actual option just frakkin do it already, quit playing around with your source of income. I'm remind of a saying about a hand, biting said hand, and something about said hand feeding you.

It's just a free, virtual item calm down sir. No need to be a conspiracy theorist about it at all. So it didn't go so smoothly the first time around, they learned from their mistake and made a better system for Hindsight. Yeah, some folks like me have tried signing up 3 times for the staff and will probably never get it but that's just how it goes. It's a FREE item. You didn't pay for it so you can hardly complain about not receiving it. Grumble all you want about corporations trying to manipulate your life but that doesn't mean they are out there laughing deviously at you.
It has already been said the same system for Hindsight cannot be used again for the Staff, just get over it. It's one promotional item of many that will be offered, Bioware doesn't have to offer any freebies if they don't want to.

how do you tell if your signed up I cant seem to find anything mentioning newsletters on my account or profile preferences I signed up on the DA webpage any help is appreciated
There is a Bioware post about it(it is easy to see all the bioware posts, just click on the bioware icon under the topics name while under the general forums), anyway it says:To confirm if you are set to receive email:
1) Go to www.ea.com (you may be redirected to your local country version of this page)
2) At the bottom of the page (footer), you should see a "Login" link
3) Ensure you login with the same email and password you use here on social
4) At the next page, one of the tabs at the top of the page should say "Contact Preferences", select this
5) Ensure the checkbox is ON for "Contact me about EA's products...."
6) Ensure the checkbox is ON for "Dragon Age" (feel free to adjust your preference for receiving other game's news)

I'm convinced this whole promotion was a total scam to get people signing up for EA spam. I've gotten some Sims 3 bullsh*t, something related to Need For Speed, and probably some other nonsense I had to delete.
I'm convinced the whole signature edition business is because they weren't getting the numbers in pre-sales that they expected. Reward for being loyal my arse. The people who were truly loyal had already pre-ordered before the signature edition upgrades were announced.

I really don't think you understand the meaning of free. We signed up for what is essentially spam for the sake of acquiring this item. We entered an agreement with BioWare. If BioWare were to break this agreement it certainly wouldn't reflect well on them or their idea of customer service. So please don't come here and belittle people for expecting what was promised.leonia42 wrote...

In fact, my pre-order hinges on them getting this right as I value honesty above all else. The bazaar was enough of a fiasco and part of me is concerned that this will be swept under the rug in the exact same manner. I've come to expect far better from BioWare.

What I personally think is that the Signature Edition is primarily for the international fans, to make up for the Bazaar incident. But I digress... no newsletter yet.Marionetten wrote...

I signed up in October.
Funny thing is that I have received zero newsletters from EA/Bioware since then. And yes I do check my spam folder regularly.
I can understand failing to send the code, but failing to send out the spam... err newsletters I mean is just silly. Most of the time I have troubles stoping annoying adverts, now I have to try to get them
