 Hawke's mother's maiden name is Amell, the same last name of the Human mage warden so was this just a coincidence or was it on purpose? Because if it was on purpose i am definatly making my mage my cannon Warden.

They are relatives. You can find out exactly how in DA2, but it's nothing earth-shattering if that's what you might be assuming.
