Pick A Spectre!

It's ME3, and thanks to convenient helmet cameras, the Council can no longer deny the Reaper threat. For whatever reason, they've decided that they need another Spectre - say, to replace Tera Vasir.
They want you - Shepard - to do it. You can pick from your current squad - any one of them - except Liara.
So.... whom do you choose? And why?
Personally, I'd pick Samara, as she's pretty much the best qualified, of all the folks on my crew, with Jack being a close second.
If there's anyone who'll do whatever it takes, it'd be Jack.
Whatcha'all think?
(An aside: is it just me, or does Tali's visor pop off really easy in her romance scene? Shepard doesn't need to pop a single seal or fumble with a catch. Is it flimsy design or did Tali do it for him before she went to his cabin? I ask this here because I don't have enough lifetimes to read through the eight kabillion posts in the five trillion Talimancer threads, and it just struck me now, for some odd reason.)

As for Tali's mask, shepard was looking for the pressure release button but Tali had to guide his hands to the release buttons/object near the underside of her mask. You hear a hiss/click when he does it too. Short answer: she helps.

Don't think they would pick Jack...trustworthiness issues. I'd say Garrus for sure maybe Kaiden as he is a good fighter/biotic and has a good multi-species mindset. Samara has her code so even if they asked her she would likely decline (she's too black and white anyway).
This is all post-loyalty stuff, Wolf. Jack may have worked through a few issues by now. I'll also add the provisio that the Council will accept whomever you choose. Ya just gotsta choose. Personally, I can't see Samara's Code interfering. The only difference between a Justicar and a Spectre is her Code. I don't see them as incompatible.

That could also be nothing more than the pressure differential inside her suit. Rechecking the vid of that scene just now - gotta love YouTube - Tali just grasps his hand, she doesn't do much more than that (maybe I'm missing something) - and Shepard simply pulls it off. One would think that her mask would have slightly more elaborate locking mechanisms. The ease with which he removes it - hell, one good backhand could knock the thing off - I'm just going to assume that the ease of removal is simply Biowarian story convenience, given how long the Taliwhackers have been lusting after that particular scene.
So... back to Spectre speculation... (Spectrelation?)

Garrus because...well seriously. He might as well be a spectre, he's is a hero of the people.
But would he think of himself as qualified, though? This is a guy with some serious self-confidence issues....

Nobody else is really qualified.

Actually, they don''t seem to pick Spectres for trust-worthiness. Rather Spectres are picked for their ability to resolves a situation by any means necessary.
Kinda fits Jack to a tee.
As an aside, the criteria for picking Spectres seems to invite them going rogue.

Jack is scary enough as a criminal. Giving her a badge is just asking for trouble. She might have resolved some of her issues after her loyalty mission but she's still ultimately out for number one. I can't see her being willing or able to stay focused on a mission the Council assigned her. Maybe someday in the future if she really matures, but making ME2 Jack a Spectre is creating a ticking bomb. She's useful to have on Shepard's mission, but that's because she has Shepard and Cerberus keeping her focused. Throwing her out in the galaxy without requiring that she be accountable to anyone wouldn't end well.
You might be making an assumption here that Spectres are peacekeepers. I don't think they sre, I think they are simply problem solvers. They are the last option before open conflict. Sometimes that option is a paragon, peacekeeping response other times it's "blow them all up."
I'm assuming the Council utilizes spectres by their skill set.

Depending on the council - Miranda and Jacob could be problematic with their ties to Cerberus. Not saying they couldn't do the job, just saying they might have a hard time getting it if the council is the original one.
Yeah, But Jacob Saved the Council and didnt have to, I Think Thats Spectre Material.

I'd actually pick Legion, his caculating logic would be perfect for hunting down people along with his hacking abilities would make him a force. That and he's simply a great character

Miranda or Jacob would be good if their loyalty switched from Cerberus to the Council.

Whether Mordin would accept candidacy is another matter entirely. He seemed fairly happy being retired from the STG and running a clinic, and as much as I love him, I'd be loathe to keep him from returning to that.
