So I played Kotor on the xbox a long time ago and I recently borrowed my buddy's PC version. I installed it and I started playing (had to fix it for Windows 7) and well... it looks horrible. Is this normal for the PC version or do I need to download some mods or something? I tried downloading a head replacer or something but it still looks the same.

Here's some screenshots so you can see what I'm talking about..

I'm on a laptop. I have windows 7, 2.2ghz processor, 4gb ram, and a crappy intel integrated GPU. But with this GPU most games still look really good. Just curious if it's just because of the game's age. I don't remember it looking like this on the xbox.

How do I make it look like this?

Don't mean to seem rude or anything but you did change the graphics settings right? I just have to check because it looks as if the game's loading the low-res texture packs. If that's not the issue, try running things in compatibility mode for XP. When you installed the head replacer, it probably replaced one of the high-resolution head textures. My best guess is that's your issue - if it was a compatibility problem, you most likely wouldn't even be able to get as far as you are in the game without a CtD.

Yeah I have everything on high. I actually loaded the game, saw how bad it looked THEN downloaded the head replacer hoping it would look better. But as you can see, it doesn't..

Intel's graphics have always been crap. This game requires OpenGL, not Direct3D, and not even the latest / greatest of AMD's and nVIDIA's graphics will do it justice. It looks best on real video cards from about five years ago, such as the Geforce 6800 GT and 7800 GT, or the Radeon X800 XT (and it's slightly better younger brother, 850 XT), and the X1950 XT.

I had two versions of KotOR; this six year old list of supported video cards was in a Readme on the newer of those, and I have shown them resorted for performance:

SUPPORTED VIDEO CARD CHIPS:

Alpha order column. . . . . . . . Performance order from slowest

    * NVIDIA GeForce2 ?. . . . . * NVIDIA GeForce2 (This includes the MXes)
    (Interesting!  Those MXes _can't_ REALLY *do* OpenGL 1.4!)
    * NVIDIA GeForce3 .. . . . . * NVIDIA GeForce3
    * NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti ... . . * NVIDIA FXes, Low end 5200-5700
    * NVIDIA FXes (Low end). . . * NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti4***
    * NVIDIA FXes (High end) . . * NVIDIA FXes, High end 5700U-5950

 . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . These next are *especially* interesting

    * ATI Radeon 8500 . . . . . * ATI Radeon 9000, *very* slow
    * ATI Radeon 9000 . . . . . * ATI Radeon 9250  *rather* slow
    * ATI Radeon 9200/9250. . . * ATI Radeon 9200/9550 also, *fairly slow*
    - - split generation -- . . * ATI Radeon 8500
    * ATI Radeon 9500 . . . . - - split Dx8 to Dx9 here (except 9550)
    * ATI Radeon 9550 . . . . . * ATI Radeon 9600
    * ATI Radeon 9600 . . . . . * ATI Radeon 9500
    * ATI Radeon 9700 . . . . . * ATI Radeon 9700
    * ATI Radeon 9800 . . . . . * ATI Radeon 9800

(The 9550 is actually a downclocked 9600, after having the X300 and X550 cloned from that one)

          o Radeon 9200 SE
          o Radeon 9000
          o Radeon 9250
          o Radeon 9200
          o Radeon 9550
        o Radeon 9000 Pro
          o Radeon 8500
          o Radeon 9600 SE

When it comes to OpenGL, the worst of those above is better than any Intel anything.

JP, have you tried running it in a compatibility mode for XP? I have the game running on a 9800GT and it looks perfectly fine, so I would assume you've either had a dodgy installation or possibly your OS is causing issues. On another note, have you made sure your graphics drivers are up to date?
