Finally a good idea that isn't "cure Thane."

I'd rather avoid it, otherwise it will fall into the Sand Box trap where too much is never enough.

What next... Shepard can sit in a sofa and watch TV?

I want Shepard to spend some time playing a hybrid RPG/FPS video game.

It would be great if Shepard can address crews of Normandy there will be a Shore leave!! Then, there are choices of planets and different "resort", resort can be a training facility, a beach, driving jeep through jungles etc.

Life on Normandy is hard and intense, it is time for some relaxations!!

this.

Mass Effect games are action RPGs about saving universe.
Maybe some sandbox game like GTA or RDR would be better suited to your tastes? Or maybe Dead or Alive Xtreme series?

Yeah here's why that doesn't work. I hate GTA, and I refuse to play it.  Isn't Dead or Alive secretly softporn? No thanks.

I should add that I love the idea of shore leave with the ability to do different things as someone stated above.

Also, does anyone else miss the way Fem Shep danced in ME1?

Yet many people here want to turn ME into another GTA-like sandbox.

I'd like for them to have things to say about each other, recently-completed missions, recently-visited planets/areas, major plot reveals, etc. Having stationary mission-dispensers for squadmates is not acceptable.

I second this.

What about at some point in the game Jack invites you to a drinking game in the bar area later on Zeed would ask Shep this of course would not be an all time thing only at these two points when asked you can say yes or no and play the game maybe its mass effect trivia and lore every time you guess right you drink!

I like the idea of crew members moving around the ship in the me3 wishlist someone added to this by saying they move around until they need to see you then you can find them in their usual places this would then take then get rid of the need to track them down.

Maybe the game shows can be linked to radio shows some people have asked if a radio could be put into the captain's quarters.

Galaxy of fantasy could be logged onto via the secondary " page" computer in captain's quarters so could card games and select mini movies once you log on you are presented with a menu that allows you to choose games, movies, videos then you can pick from a few categories under videos maybe a music video or two?

On hub stations pijack betting where they either race or fight could be a repeating galactic off duty activity to do, maybe something similar to go carts where your crew makes bets on who will win and you race if you loose you pay out the creds or if you win you get them.

Inspired by the others, I wrote up my version of "Smell that Pheremone"

5...4...3...2............

Salarian Host:
It's been the talk of the town, the pride of Palavan, celebrated on the citadel... And now, it's available to you all in your own homes via the extranet... it's time for

(audience chants along)

SMELL

THAT

PHEREMONE!

(Salarian half walks, half dances onto a brightly lit pink and yellow gameshow set. A Turian, a Human and a Volus stand at 3 seperate podiums with buzzers. Above them, an elcor is locked in a cage swinging over their heads)

Salarian: Yes we all know the rules, but for you newcomers, it's all about... what is it about, folks?

Audience: PHEREMONES!

Salarian: That's right, the elcor give off a complex series of bodily pheremones to convey emotion. To the elcor, it's like body language, but to other species, it's a mystery. Until tonight. Because tonight, you're going to smell that pheremone, and tell me what it is!

Human (staring up at the elcor): I smell something but i'm pretty sure it's not a pheremone

Elcor: Embarrassed: I may have tried human food earlier today

Volus: (Buzz) He's Embarrassed

Salarian: No, we're not playing yet. But we have some wonderful prizes for when we start. What are they playing for, Kalash?

(A slick Krogan voiceover plays over the speaker as shots of the prizes flash across the screen)

Kalash: Tonight our contestants are playing for some amazing prizes. We've got Blasto DVDs and merchandise, a brand new X3M skycar, and the grand prize, a holiday to the human colony of Eden Priiiiiiime...

Salarian: That's great, what do you thi-

Human (interrupting): Excuse me, I already live on Eden Prime, do i get a holiday elsewhere?

Salarian: No, but I suppose you could sell it to someone?

Human: Nah, that's no good.

Elcor: Frustrated: This gameshow takes away my dignity...

Human: (Buzz) He's frustrated

Salarian: (Angrily) NO! We're not playing Yet!

Turian: (Buzz) You're angry!

Salarian: No, it's not my emotion we're guessing.

Elcor: Annoyed: This cage is degrading

Human: (Buzz) He's annoyed!

Turian: Shut up, Human. I'M annoyed. He said we're not playing yet

Human: Says you...

(cage wobbles a little)

Elcor: Worried: Is this cage properly secure?

Turian: You humans are all alike.

(The human and turian get into a fight. The crowd goes wild. The turian hits the rear wall of the set. The cage makes a straining sound and buckles. everyone goes silent)

........................................................

Volus: (Buzz) The elcor is worried!

Salarian: .....So am I.....

(Sparks fly from the cage as it drops. Audience screams. Before it can land and squash the 3 contestants the screen cuts to a cartoon Salarian next to a cartoon elcor giving off stink lines with the logo "Smell that Pheremone!")

Keep any added minigames (card games in particular) optional, please. :P

Crew independent interaction would be great though! Even if they become mobile, I suppose we know where we are sure to find Kasumi, at least. ;)

I want a holographic combat simulator that has customisable options; I want to be able to choose how heavily my team is outnumbered, how much cover there is, how aggressive the enemies are, what type of adversaries they are [i.e. will I be facing shields or barriers? Collector particle beams or krogan charges?] and I want to be able to set time limits. The biggest problem with ME2 for me was that, once the missions and assignments were done, all that I had left was mining - which I did across the entire galaxy - give me a combat simulator that I can use at any time and I will be happy for months after I have completed the main missions and assignments. A survival mode with a customisable number of waves, ranging from 3 to an infinite number of waves, would be good too. :D

I would also like to see specific off-duty activities that may be undertaken at the suggestion of specific squad mates, that may even form minigames if possible. I want to be able to challenge Grunt to an arm wrestle, Garrus to a test of marksmanship; I want lessons in hacking and electronic architecture from Legion or Tali; and I want to play "biotic minecraft" with Samara - at the end, Jack could storm in and ruin it for the lulz.

Okay, forget that last option. Biotic minecraft won't be implemented. ):

Thats a great idea. A skirmish mode that is logicly implemented into the game world. Gives those who want more action get it when they want. Others feel good in the knowledge that "they can" if they want to.

You understand me perfectly. Developing on the idea, I don't think Shepard could be allowed to gain experience points, as that would enable people like me [loooooong time, extremely thorough RPG players] to obsessively level grind, which is not in the spirit of ME.

The combat simulator would have to be there as a purely recreational activity - the practice Shepard was getting from undertaking simulated missions would be reflected in increased tactical proficiency and a steadier aim on the part of the player. As justification for not receiving experience points, one might simply say that simulated combat is far from the real thing.

There could be achievements/trophies too, maybe for surviving a 50 wave survival mode or defeating an enemy force that outnumbers you by 7:1.
