K so my question is if you blind them can they still gaze you? From a RP standpoint it would but im not sure with the engine. Its easy to blind them with a sunscorch(divine remix) which offer no saves agaisnt the blinding effect. Just wondering if the startegy would work as im limited in potions. Hoh and does enrage of berserker(tutu) give immunities to petrification?

Not sure which temple your talking about as i dont recall any lathander temple in bg1(otuside of BG there is the morning song, the temple of wisdom and the church of helm hoh and almost forgot the winery temple at gullykin) and decided to do the area anyhow XD. Anyway tried blinding them and it work wonder. I just need somebody to soak up the first gaze as sunscorch has a medium time cast which kagain do wonder at with is retarded save bonuses. and there is always the potion -.- Sadly i just lost the ghoul to a band of adventurer whom taunted my group. He was great at exactly tanking the first gazes.
Now you'll know to either sweet talk or avoid those adventurers until you have dealt with all those basilisks and Medusae.
If you do have to fight them, it is usually worthwhile healing Korax with your cleric.

And maybe consider getting a mage...they make things ever so much easier.

That adventurer party is not particularly near any of the basilisks, you can run Korax through and he'll stay charmed long enough to clear most of the map.

It was a Roleplayed no reload playtrough. Only little ppl(dwarf, halfling and gnome) and the only mages i had were chunked.

I was with a level 4 (average) party.

as i just said, id do that if i had a mage. i wasnt playing with a perfect group. and anyway with scs they detect the protection so only 1 should go in.Biotic_Warlock wrote...
Get a mage with protect from petrification... then have the protected person attack and be nearest... in my party i did that and the gaze didnt do anything... not even damageded them

ohh.
I would probably use summoned mosnters maybe... if you have a cleric with animate dead.
But idk is that scs things detects that and also attacks your party... i don't think i ever used that.
Well if you kill that Greater Bas. Then you get a hefty 7500xp

Wouldn't that damage Korax, what with him being undead and all?

Actually, I think all undead can be healed. That said, sending summons to the frontlines? I don't know a lot about the SCS mod, but common sense tells me : If you get attacked melee, don't go ranged. Don't know if that logic applies to the SCS'd basilisks though...
Edit : good god, I just replied to an eight months old thread. *sigh* I think I need a nap

Temple of Lathander doesn't have one.
Another possibility is to work with your summons (skeletons should be immune to petr,) while one of the party is invisible. Drink the potions for the Greater B

Get the green scroll of protection from the Nashkell carnival or by a merchant in the Elfsong Tavern in BG.,

Haha indeed it is old. Had a chuckle when i saw this again.
Sadly the party never made it trough the basilisk zone. No mage to cast prot from petri and was too lazy to find a scroll. I had mirrored eye potion but my main character decided to scout with sanctuary while kagain was mowing trough them when i got distracted and sanctuary went off. SCS basilisk have the nice habit of targetting ppl w/o actual protection lol.
