I would like to create a warrior that can deal a good amount of damage but can off tank as when when the situation calls for it. Just wondering what attributes I should put my points into and what gear, talents, specializations, etc I should get. Any help would be much appreciated.

Well what I'm looking for is to make a warrior that prioritizes on dealing damage while being capable taking damage and becoming an off tank. I don't think a shield and sword warrior would fit that role.

A DW\\Archer hybrid does fairly well. Take DEX to 36 for talents, Cunning to 16, Will to 20-30, rest in STR. If you decide to advance to DAA, respec for greater DEX at that time.

Sounds good, but what specializations, skills, talents and such do you recommend?

Im currently playing a 2h build and my alistair in cailan's arms/maric's blade with 30 dex hits up into the 90's after the landsmeet, so a S&S build can almost out-dps a 2h build, and with the added speed I think he does out-dps me at times.

Get the shield wall line asap as this should act like indomitable *I THINK* in the way that it stops you from falling on your but. The other shield skils can be of use but I tend to think that shield wall line + shield mastery/expertise line (top one) will make your S&S hard to kill, mix in precise striking + threaten and you could very well tank with ~70 str and 30 dex.

Though in Awakening you probably should boost your dex to ~50 to help you survive, and to keep your dps up near some of the others you would want 100-120 str with updated sets (havn't finished my awakening playthrough just yet so I wouldn't know)

Oh, btw, my 2h was hitting in the 100's-120's possibly even 130's with alistair doing 70's-90's.

Goodluck! this will be my next char i'll be creating!

For a DW/Archer Warrior, I am using Berserker/ Champion currently. However, Templar may be a decent choice, too.

Skills: Combat Training (4), Coersion (4), and Survival (4) if possible. If you plan on leaving your Warden to run Mages or Rogues, Combat Tactics is helpful, but is not a priority.

Talents: Deathblow (4), Precise Strike (1), Berserker (3), Champion (4), Master Archer (4), DW - as many as you can, but especially top tier (4).

I would seek other recommendations/confirmation for spec classes, as I have played few Warriors thus far; prefer Rogues.

For DW, Momentum is a must-have, much more so than the top tier. I'd always go for Momentum first. The top tier is pretty good, but only get the last one if you're actually planning on using two full-sized weapons. The stamina cost reduction is not worth it.

For Archery, I think the top and the bottom tiers are the only good ones until Awakening.

Really, any warrior in heavy/massive armor with a damage-oriented build can fit that role. Even sword and shield with high strength can deal pretty good damage.

Berserker as a specialisation? (for final blow)

Final Blow is a very very bad skill >.<" Only useful to get the Heavy Hitter achievement. (Not saying that Berserker is a bad specialization)

Why?
Aside from that, berserker in general increases damage, and also health regeneration. Not bad for a tank.

Berserker is a good specialization in general, but the problem with it is that it turns off automatically (unless you mod the game).

It should be noted also that the damage bonus is far more useful to a DW warrior than a 2h warrior.

Final Blow is bad for several interrelated reasons. It uses all your stamina, so you kinda want to use it toward the end of the fight, right? Unfortunately, the end of the fight means low stamina which means low damage... and if it's near the end of the fight, you probably didn't need a killer ability anyway. If you use it early, when you still have stamina, you just crippled yourself for the rest of the fight. Plus, it turns off all your sustains. To top everything off, the damage is less than impressive for what it costs, compared to other abilities.

That is why I use Berserker for the berserking but never take Final Blow.

You can accomplish what you're looking for if you make any type of warrior and just pump STR. If you make dual wielding or sword and shield just make sure you have enough DEX for talents. 2 handers can just go STR all the way; you won't need to invest a point in any other stat. Your talents and auto attack will do a ton of damage and you can armor yourself up so that if you do take damage it will be minimal.
