I purchased Dragon Age through steam and the game installed and works just fine. But if I try to log in through the log in button in the game, it says im not connected to the internet... but I am. Ive looked everywhere and tried many different solutions from other threads but it did not fix my issue. Im on a clean install of win7. Only things I installed so far have been my latest drivers and steam.

Things ive done:
-My windows firewall is completly disabled, besides DA:O already being on the exception list
-Disabling ECN capability through the CMD console
-Bypassing my router and connecting straight to my cable modem
-Tried using my friends wireless internet, he has a different provider (comcast, i have c9)
-disabled just about all security/privacy options i could find
 -Running as admin

And im posting this now as DA:O is even running in the backround saying im offline.

Apologize for my english

If anyone knows anything please let me know, I really would like to get my DLC that should come with my delux edition off steam. Thank you for your time

This is an issue that I and others have posted about several times. I tried EA's chat support -- waste of time. Their phone support was more responsive, though it's been several days since I've heard anything from them except to say that they need more time to figure out what's wrong.

Just FYI, the problem does not appear to be specific to any OS, doesn't depend on disabling ECN, persists even after creating firewall exceptions and/or completely disabling firewalls, and isn't fixed either by forwarding ports 80, 8000, and 8001 via a router or by skipping the router and plugging straight into your modem. Nor is it likely to be an issue of ports being blocked by ISPs, since we're all likely using different ISPs, and mine certainly has assured me that they're not blocking these ports.

Chances are this is either an issue with the DA:O executable itself or with Bioware's servers, since there really isn't anything left on the client end that could be causing the problem.

As soon as I have some kind of news from EA phone support, I'll post it.

I am having the exact same issue. When I go to the login section, it states I am not connected to the net, but when I go to the downloadable content section, it finds the available content, so the game is obviously able to communicate with the net.

I currently do not have a firewall on my PC, so its not an issue with that.

My router is generally excellent with regards to games and apps, but just on the off chance that it was causing a problem, I added the ports which are listed at the back of the manual (tcp 8000, udp 8001 and both 80).

I just tested and it still says I am disconnected from the net.

A cynical part of me wonders if this is intentional, to slow down the amount of Content downloads, as thanks to the fact that I cant login, I am unable to download the free DLC I got with the game, and have now linked to my account; an account which I cant let the game know I have......

Urgh. Although this is not pleasant, i'm happy that someone else is having the same problem as i do. Hopefully this gets resolved soon.

I think the game checks for internet at startup only. Probably why you can still download stuffs when its running.

When I try to log in using the Log In button in the game I get the message I get the accept terms page then 'The following supplied information was wrong - incorrect password' if that is the case then how come I can log in and post here? I have the collectors edition and have patched it to 1.01 and have updated the visual c just so that I could get the game to start

I am having the same problem, it says It detects no internet connection when I try to log in with my username/password, even though It pulled DLCs into the game.

this is totally unacceptable, I will demand compensation for not getting my DLC or I will never buy a bioware game again. Total incompetence Bioware.

Now the idiots at EA tell me that my registration is for Spore which isn't activated yet when I activate the account with the email they send me to activate it - They send it to me in German even though the header says English speaking - it says this email account has already been activated yet the profile says it hasn't - bit of a loop there - wake up lads you're losing a customer here, actually more than one - many people rely on my game reviews in the Forums I run to buy their games - this one isn't getting a positive review from me unless someone at EA really pulls their finger out

Ok, i'm glad that I am not the only one in this boat. let us hope we can get a Bioware to chime in on this issue...they seem to not like to email.

Anyone else have problems with this? this is more than a little bug...

Another in the boat of it saying my password is incorrect. I do have Spore as the poster above mentioned. But my account says it is activated. While in game when I attempt to connect it gives my the ToS to accept then says the password is incorrect(It isn't).

Hope you guys have luck figuring out the problem!

Small update on the problem.  If I intentionally enter the wrong password it fails to connect instantly saying invalid username/password.  It's only when I enter the correct one that it asks to agree to the ToS then gives me the invalid password error.

All I am looking for is some expanation regarding the problem. If its an issue with ports, then let me know which ones to forward because the ones mentioned in the manual make no difference.

Apologies for bumping again, but iether the "search" function is useless or its broken, so this is the only way to keep the topic where I can find it.

That's exactly what happens to me too - if I log into the game using the old email address and password that I registered all of my old Bioware games under then magically I get logged on! But now, because my email address for the game and the email address that I have registered it under are totally different I don't want to take the chance of downloading the DLC as they warn you specifically not to do this. BTW if I try to log into this Forum/Social network with my old email address and password then I get a 'this account has been inactivated by EA or is inavlid' message! Kinda weird...

Thought I'd give you an update. I managed to get mine to log in(and it seems to be working fine, it started downloading the DLC right away). After a couple looks through the faq I saw a question about getting a system error when trying to log in.

Turns out that Dragon Age does not like if you have special characters in your password. I removed the # from mine and the game logged in without issues. If you've got any symbols or other nonletter or number characters in your pass, try removing them, Jade.

I wish I could get the login button to highlight....at least that would be progress....

Ohh well, its not stopping me from playing, but its still irritating that I have free DLC, but I cant get hold of it because the Login page has decided I am not connected to the net, even though the DLC page can see the currently available DLC.

Just out of curiosity, have you tried to disable your internet then reenable while you are in the game?

I have tried that Dateranoth, to no success. It is rather frustrating that the log in wont even highlight..
