Hi all. Same problem here. Has anyone else change your "Dedicated Internet Connection" setting in the config utility? It's under "system" at the top of the config app. I have toggled it a few times to no avail. I wonder what file it writes to when you "check" or "uncheck" it.

Hey try this post. The guy says he opened a particular port on his firewall and it fixed his problem:

Turns out that Dragon Age does not like if you have special characters in your password. I removed the # from mine and the game logged in without issues. If you've got any symbols or other nonletter or number characters in your pass, try removing them, Jade.

I tried this and it WORKED!  I don't know why they wouldn't allow symbols, but oh well, works now!  Thanks!

Whoa, lots. I thought it was the proxy that my dad won't let me tweek the settings on.  Maybe not, considering all these people have the same sounding problem (or other online difficulties).

I have the "can't log in" problem too. I'm running Windows XP SP3. I checked "dedicated connection" and "create firewall exceptions" in the setup utility.

It worked for me after i changed my password and removed all special characters from it,

Also the EA-account manager asked me to add my ID to the email adres (strange, why didnt he knew that before).

And i added port mentioned in Dateranoth post ( http://social.biowar...58/index/185784) in the router (But dont know if this was the cause of my problem)

Check and make sure that Peer Block, Peer Guardian or any other peer blocking program isn't blocking Electronic Arts, Inc. That was my problem.

Right now im on a clean install of win 7 and steam. Those are the only things installed (not counting drivers). Anything security or firewall wise is disabled atm. This is not wise I know but im a linux user and only use my windows install to please my gaming needs.

And if its not saying that your internet is not connected then u will get a new error message saying that dragon age servers could not be contacted..What a waste of my money,Could be much more simple if they would just let us download the game through steam or even better for those who bought the from a shop to just simply install it like any other Game..But no,In EA money come first =|...Great,Thanks a lot EA...

I have tried opening ports as some have suggested, but it doesnt seem to do anything. The updates/DLC section of the game can see the internet, and shows me the two available DLC packs, but the login button in the player login section remains greyed out, and states that I am offline.

I would appreciate any assistance, but I will say that I love the game; its the best RPG I have played since my Baldurs Gate and Fallout 1&2 days.....the witcher was great, but it just wasnt as good as DAO :)

I'm also in this boat. Get the same "you are not connected" error, even though clicking "online profile" in the downloadable content screen links straight to my Bioware profile.

Log in button isn't even highlighted.

I have same problem. Got my preorder today and when installed and trying to log in I get system error message. It says try again later, if problem persist contact ea customer support.  This issue has been since the char creator; I contacted ea support and got no answer (how typical).

I tried to log in to my ea account, which worked before, same system error. I try to recover my password; system error. I try to create new account, email already exist, I try to log in using invented pw it says pw or email is incorrect but the right one isn’t working neither.

Well my solution for this is simple; if these errors will not be fixed soon – I just stop paying money for false promises and raise my children to do so and spread the word.

I've tried every single suggestion made on the various threads (forwarding to port 18081, turning off ECN, e.t.c.) as well as every combination of the suggestion. Unfortunately it still says I'm not connected. I must say the game runs very well out of the box and at least the problems are confined mainly to the online extra content, but it would be nice to have this issue resolved.

Sigh this is depressing because I really have no urge to play without the extra content I payed for...which would be the pre-order stuff and the DLC...

MythicalKnight, OMG, I can't believe how dumb I am. All this time I was banging my head off the wall trying to figure out why I couldn't log-in, and sure enough, I do use Peer Block. Disabled it, and logged in immediately.

Thank you for pointing out the obvious to me. :)

I can't log in either. Very irritating, as I have already bought points for DLC. No special characters in my password.

Hi all. I had the exact same problem. I've been trying a few times a day for the last week. It just worked a minute ago. I started the downloads and soon after it said i had been signed out of the network (Aargh!) BUT the dlc is still downloading. Hurray! It seems you just have to keep trying unfortunately

Thats weird, however I have not had the same success, or luck rather, for my log in button to light up yet. However Iv'e really gave up trying to get this working, and it will probably stay un-installed until they find a solution, my emails to bioware remain unanswered. I now know where this companies priorities are.

There is absolutely no reason this game should not work on a fresh install of windows, after all its all about the user experience and Id consider my computer skills a little more developed than a good portion of users and spent way too much time bending over trying to get this thing to work. Shame really, I had a seamless and amazing experience with Mass Effect and Kotor.

This is unlike you, Bioware. Your record was too great to release a game in this condition.

EA are responsible for the tech support, not bioware. I emailed them and got a reply within a day.
They basically said that the servers were limited and that they were working on it and they hoped to get it fixed in the next few days.

The login button was always lit up for me, i could type in my username and password and click login. Then i'd wait for 2 minutes before "The Dragon age servers are not available at the moment" (or something similar) appeared

My reply was from the uk EA support site so you may not have as much luck wherever you are from. I hope it works out for you soon, i seem to be able to login most times now although i get signed out pretty quickly. As someone with a lot of computer experience myself it seems odd to email tech support, if we cant get it to work then there definitely something wrong with the servers.

By the way you were lucky to have a "seamless and amazing experience with Mass Effect and Kotor" those games were bugged to **** when they came out first on pc.
