As we all remember from Dragon Age: Origins, when a Ferelden lass (or an Orlesian, once she has spent some time in Ferelden) is ready for intimacy, she signals her man by putting on undergarments from the discount rack at the fantasy world equivalent of WalMart.

Even Morrigan, who wears much skimpier undergarments under her actual clothes, apparently borrows some undies from Wynne when it is time to do it like they do on the Discovery Channel.  Ferelden men must be excited by the sight of a half acre of unbleached & undyed wool cloth, which raises questions of their familiarity with their sheep, but that's a story for a different thread.

It is clear by now that Dragon Age part Deaux is set in a different region.  My questions are: do the women of this region also use similar, unattractive undergarments?  Is the DA:O lingerie of Drwarven manufacture?  Did The Maker tell Leliana to wear that stuff, and if not, why would an Orlesian girl put that on, ever?

All kidding aside, from my perspective it would have been better for the ladies of Dragon Age to be "not nude" rather than "non-nude."  I know that a lot of work went into developing the relationships in the game, including the romantic liaisons.  Rather than giving me a deeper attachment to Morrigan or Leliana, however, I actually laughed the first couple of times I saw those unfortunate undergarments.  If y'all feel that it is not appropriate to have bare bosoms in a game with blood splatter, beheading, dismemberment, disemboweling, corpses, and brood mothers, then that's your call... I would simply ask that you consider that your last approach to the issue was perhaps not the best one.

I can see boobies in the real world without hurting others. I can't hack appart, blow up, disfigure, maim, be :monocle: evil, etc in the real world without hurting others. I skip over the "romance" parts in the game other than to laugh the first time.

He's not.  I've seen a dev quote where they said they made the underwear better.  So apparently they go to Victoria Secret as opposed to Wal-Mart.  It might still be the stuff that's on sale though.  I doubt underwear is a top priority.

Actually, I didn't mind the grandma underwear that much. It was better looking than the awful leather stuff in Morrowind. Leather panties? Really? Of course, I liked it even better after I modded it. *grin*

Well you need to understand that with general standards of what's profane nudity is the highest. You could kill someone on the nightly news and I mean actually saw of someone's head off and they would air it with a little disclaimer. Whereas a breast is shown anywhere and every watchdog group has a fit. Yeah...sad eh.



So we need to start a physical freedom group and show game companies in general that we are the consumer and we want mature content in our mature games. I'm not saying it needs to be X-rated or anything, no in fact that would detract quality, what we want is if a girl is going to be naked then she's naked. If a hero is stripped and beaten then the dude is naked. It could add to humor or to bring a more something. Anyway

You know, there are some rather uncomfortable implications there, if we assume they buy ALL the underwear at Victoria's Secret.
