I agree completely. I mean look at the Broodmothers in origins and awakening. If they can go that far with it why not?

Well Morrigan's and Leliana's were pretty much the same. I enjoyed both romance scenes for the males, but a female with Leliana, the scene seemed awkward.

At some point, nudity was going to be in the game. This was something mentioned a long time ago on the romances on the old DA:O board. For whatever reason, this feature was cut. As a consequence, you had the extra wonderful bra and underwear rags added.

It seems like after the free press they got from the idiots at FOX News over the side boob in Mass Effect, they would have made sure to leave enough nudity in the game to rattle the kennel door over there.  You can't buy publicity like that.

I been thinking of that, too. Just wasn't brave enough to voice it.

Some countries, like Australia, ban games outright for having nudity. It's ok to drive around and run over people for no apparent reason but you can't have sex with hookers - completely contrary to real life.

Also, irrespective of whether you voice your concerns as a consumer or not, game ratings are handled by boards that are apparently staffed by people who think sex is more dangerous than killing people. I've never understood how that became a mainstream check.

Same with me. I don't understand it.
"Hey, we don't have a problem with the violence, all the killing, blood, decapitations and mutilation are just fine...now, nudity, that's dangerous...think of the children!!"

Yeah that's what I said. I don't want anything graphic or unseemly, I just want it that if someone is supposed to be naked for whatever reason then they should be naked and not covered with some bulky tan cloth.

Well think of it this way... some young punk sees two pixels doing it, thinks its cool, somehow finds another dumb as a stump youngin' to do it with. 9 months later their little blighter is born but both decide its easier to play a game with sex in it than to raise a baby and ignore it. 16 years later that baby becomes a murderous sociopath driving a car around running over hookers and brokering drug deals, all because two pixels did it with nekkidity.



So the moral of the story is the safest video game sex is ridiculous lookin' video game sex.

Actually it's the other way around in pretty much every country around the world. Tastefull nudity and sex are fine but excessive violence, drug refrences, high level of gore, etc, get knocked hard. Honestly the U.S. is the only nation off the top of my head that put's nudity and sex ahead of excessive violence in terms of button pushing.

This sums it up quite well.

Unfortunately I have a feeling that the "better underwear" news also implies that love scenes will be handled the same way as in DAO. They will have it on but behave as though they don't. I only hope I'm wrong on one of the two points...if they have it on they should behave as if they have it on, or if they don't then they shouldn't.
