Some countries, like Australia, ban games outright for having nudity. It's ok to drive around and run over people for no apparent reason but you can't have sex with hookers - completely contrary to real life.
Also, irrespective of whether you voice your concerns as a consumer or not, game ratings are handled by boards that are apparently staffed by people who think sex is more dangerous than killing people. I've never understood how that became a mainstream check.

For the Aus version, they could cover the naughty bits with some carefully positioned blood splatter and gore.

It would give new meaning to the threat to "have your guts for garters."

This game just needs full nudity. You see, you may not show, say, naked breast, but when you show female character from behind, for example, it'll still be clear that she's naked. One can't make a scene with naked people without directly showing... Naughty bits.

This is just the kind of thing it's great to have a toolset for. I guarantee that an alternative underwear/nude mod will be one of the first things to be released.

Thank you! I was going to say that. Frankly, I'd really rather have the granny underwear than weird male thongs. I learnt the lesson that Oghren and Sten SHOULDN'T be taken to the Urn of Sacred Ashes far too late.

This may be a non-issue in DA2 if you cannot change companions equipment and they just set default Hawke to always be wearing some form of armor or robe even when you take it's armor off, just like they are doing with weapons...who knows

I just found it odd that everyone in Ferelden wore the same underwear... apparently there was an underwear monopoly

I don't see how the women's underwear in DA:O are considered "grandma" underwear.If the time period in DA:O can be compared to what? 13th/14th century? They didn't even have bra's or underwear like we do in real life today.They mostly wore rags with a string,underclothes with a corset to lift the breasts up, or long bloomers.The underwear in DA:O would be considered sexy and scandalous by past standards.They used their imaginations, I'm sure.The asthetics for smallclothes aren't that important to me.It's what's under them or rather who is wearing them that matters. lol

In the U.S.  This does not pertain in Europe.  Heck, I've seen bare boobs in German soap commericals shown in prime-time.

Agreed.The game is rated M.Children shouldn't be playing it IMO.Either that or have the groin and breasts blocked out by an arm or leg in the way.Tastefully done.

The devs probably used the same underwear for all characters because they wear armor most of the time so it's not that important and also because of developing budget.

I'd rather just have some basic clothes for when the character isn't equipped with armour. Getting nude Sten or Oghren just because your DLC is playing up is bad.
