I could deal with being spammed by unintended consequences - price I pay for being lovely ;)

I've always wished there was a third (or fourth, technically) option with the Dark Ritual. Playing as a female who romances Al, it balks that my options are a) boyfriend dead B) boyfriend shags other woman and gets her pregnant or I guess c) boyfriend leaves party and is royally pissed off.

I mean come on - force Zev to take the oath and then get him to have sex with Morrigan. He'd love the second bit!

Right, but that's still brain-damaged decision making. "Yeah, the taint should overtake Loghain... um, eventually... so yeah, that is his punishment. So have fun in exile, guy who's had my back the whole game. Unless I decide to execute you. Peace!"

Or you could have hardened Alistair and he bails on your party but is still King of Ferelden.

I viewed it as kicking Alistair's butt in the right direction when I did it, and I figured while he'd hate me then and probably for a long while afterword, it was still the "right thing" to do - at least in my character's mind - and he'd get over it in time.

Kicking Alistair in the right direction aka away from the Wardens and likely death was my mage's reasoning too, she didn't go through all that so Anora could rule alone. Alistair needed to be off the front line and yeah metagaming here a bit but a mage has more of a chance off guestimating why wardens are needed to defeat an archdemon than say a city elf.

ETA:The third option if you happen to be a DWN should have been to crown yourself. My brother would get a sword to the gut and Harrowmont could be my stand in until I defeated the Blight.

I'd love that as well, but I guess there's no turning back once the motion carries when you're exiled.

The third option I'd have liked to see with Loghain is for the player to neither kill Loghain or recruit him. As long as he's no longer getting in the way of the fight against the blight, his fate is not something that need concern the grey wardens.

This is also what I wanted to choose, not because Loghain earned to live, but save his life to favor of been Queens father. How ever, I did not want reward Loghain as become Warden, because he has not done anything else than harm Wardens and others. (As player did not know the sacriface when doing this choise.) It's not about allways wanting perfect choise, but player makes also moral choises as what player feels is right. Different players make different choise, but it's hard to choose when you only have two wrong choise in players opinion, that's why often 3th choise is needed.

I would like to keep the third option in some of the decisions we will have to make. Sometimes it's nice to feel like you have won and for me at least it makes the situations where there are no third options much more interesting. For example the choice you have to make during the landsmeet in DA:O felt to me like it had much more impact because i hadn't always had to lose something but this time there was no easy way out. If there were no third options in the entire game i would probably just have thought "well there goes another one. Just like before..... and before that"

I'm with the OP 100%. Having the perfect, make everyone happy option completely defeats the purpose of making a moral decision and makes the other "lesser" options meaningless.

Yes and no. I want a third option in places where it makes sense. Getting Zathrian to break the curse makes sense. Leaving Connor to rampage around Redcliffe and then finding that nothing happened does not make a lot of sense to me. I don't want it to be impossible to get a good outcome in all situations but I also don't want a guarantee that there is at least one way to "win", every time.

This is a bit complicated, what if you did the Circle Tower first? Then you'd be there and back again, like Teeeeagaaaan said they can take a boat and be back fast. So the demon wouldn't have much time summoning new undead and really make huge damage. But what if you did Redcliffe first? You'd have to do the entire Circle Tower quest line, and that takes time.

So i'd think that its too hard to do and left it as that. :D

Keep them. People who want drama and pain can ignore them.

Personally, I'm just annoyed that it's impossible to take the best option here, defile Andraste's ashes, and still keep Wynne in your party...
