I think it would be great to have a species that resembles an animal or some type like a canine or a feline, maybe if a horse or what not. To be honest a species with fur would be good enuff, but why isn't there any in Mass Effect, for a game based on Science Fiction it would make perfect sense for there to be.
Who wants a Furry species for ME 3?
Why are there no Furry, anthropomorphic, species in the ME universe?

The batarians are meant to be covered in some kind of horse like hair according to Revelations.
But the main reason theres no 'really' hairy species though is just because of the graphics engine.

There are plenty of anthropomorphic species. Since the basic definition of an anthropomorph is a non human with humanoid features. That applies to the Asari, the Turians, the Salarians, the Krogan, the Quarians, the Bitarians, the Geth, the Vorcha, The Colectors. Now if you're looking for a race of catgirls like Juhani or Lt M'ress, well I don't know if Bioware will do that, but we may get lucky.

I thank Bioware for keeping Bothans out of the ME universe, so we are spared atrocities like this:

On a serious note, is there any reason why a species evolving on a complete different planet from our own should have obvious feline or canine features? It's strange enough as it is that the Hanar are just big, stupid jelleyfish. Even the turians only bare a passing resemblance to avians.

well according to the Cerberus news network the Raloi are a species of avian AKA bird people, so they could be in ME3 ,but besides the Graphics engine being a problem for fur, i think Bioware doesnt want to go to the obvious route of Just-like-earth-animals, sure you can tell that some aliens are more based off animals but there are no straight up fish people or Dinosaurs ( less you Really wanna stretch the Turians and Krogans as Dinosaurs instead of Reptilian), and there is a bit less ability make aliens look alien if they are based off cats or dogs, less room to imagine with since all cats have a similar look while lizards run the gambit and are easier to create varying designs that dont look bad.

KenLyns brings up the best point possible about why furry aliens should be avoided.

You mean like this guy?

Anyway, I guess the reason why humans are the only freaks with hair is because it's much easier to graphically model aliens without hair

KenLyns, which comic is that from? It's so hilarious in so many ways, I can't even describe it
I'd like to see some wookiee-like creatures in Mass Effect 3 but I'll survive if the aliens remain hairless as well

Wookies have already been done, the Ewoks were a disaster of sorts and the Muppets have pretty much covered every variation of hairy alien looking thing possible.
Bioware handles hairy rendering just fine by the way. If you don't believe me ask Zaalbar (the KOTOR Wookie). I think that they probably stay away from the hairy alien thing as it delves too much into the areas I mentioned above and then the whole "furry" thing. Ahem.

According to the Star Wars wiki it's from the Rogue Squadron comic. Bothans have canine features. In one of Mike Stackpole's books, it is described that Bothan and human "parts do line up"...

There's only 3 kinds of furries I'm willing to consider:
1) The kind that makes games unplayable due to high system requirements (all good CGI furries)
2) The kind that's just "textured" to look like it has fur, like a leopard-pattern leotard (all bad CGI furries).
3) That furry Chia-pet ball species from startrek.

Furries ruin everything they touch. I have no problem with peoples sexual fetishes, but if you cater to furries even a little they can consume a fandom. Y'all thought talimancers were bad, but if there were anything that could remotely be construed as an animal-human hybrid then a mere Google image search for 'Mass Effect' would become a minefield of hardcore, badly drawn pornography.

Thanks for the name!
Tribbles would be the ultimate weapon against reapers. Even husks won't be able resist something that cute.

But they still shouldn't be in Mass Effect.

That's not unlikely:
1) Blasto MUST be in ME3, and when they say "lover in every tentacle", Where's the most logical place for that tentacle?
2) Shin Akiba may be accessible on the citadel.
