I was also disappointed I couldn't marry my hot city elf fiance when in DAA you find Wardens can and do get married especially having two elf origins with no female elf to romance.

Didn't the fiance die?

Nelaros died in the female CE origin, but I believe the male's fiance walked out without a scratch. BioWare likes cutting our little fangirl hearts to pieces, y'see. Nelaros, Tamlen, Cullen/Jowan, Gorim, Leske, Gilmore. Sigh.

males didn't even get anyone, except iona and she died early

It's not like Iona was a romance. She was a one night stand. I don't see why her having a kid would have any bearing on that unless you're so picky about "merchandise" that you would only sleep with virgins too.

To add to the topic, I don't want BioWare to tell me I should care about the manly pirate/gypsy woman.

Well, neither were Jowan, Leske Gilmore or Cullen.

Second.

Not only is the whole female pirate captain thing annoying in fantasy, but she has the face of an MMA fighter. Anyone know how shes significant to the story at all? Sadly it looks like shes a possible LI

I don't want to spend ten years "Rising to Power" to culminate in Hawke dying at the end.

This would upset me also, and the thought crossed my mind when I heard the story is being told by someone who is being interrogated.

I don't understand this "morrigan loose end" thing. I played all the DLC including witch hunt and I found her answers pretty much summed up the whole thing. She's going into the portal to raise her kid because there is a great change coming to the world.

You either ... Kill her ..let her go... join her...

You want to know what's on the other side of the portal??? Is that the big unanswered q? ((hint, the Arl of Foreshadow pretty much said it's the fade., ((summoning science side quest))... "Raising children in the fade, terrible twos indeed"..  ((witch hunt was set 2 and a half years after origins, and pretty much the only child concieved during that time is morrigans)).

Um....It's kinda walking off into the sunset... you are supposed to accept it.

What is the big unanswered question everyone keeps going on about?

Flemeth is in DA2....
Flemeth will possiblly shed some more light on things.

The kid may/may not play a role in things....

My biggest concern with DA2 is the fact you are restricted to preset and prenamed characters much like in ME. Chosing only your gender and class ....

In Dragon Age you were restricted to preset prenamed characters.

You were Amell, Cousland, Aeducan, or gay elf crap. But the last names didn't even matter because everyone just called you "Warden" or "you"  The only thing that changed was your hight and a few lines of dialogue in certain quests.

Yes but as a Fantasy RPG. Magi, Dwarf, Human warrior, Elf has been the staple since the days of DND.... it's the basic party composition that has served for over 20 years...

As for the "name" thing, you were not given the choice of "male hawke" or "lady hawke".... you were given a fair few choices ....6 in fact.. I love ME2 , don't get me wrong... It at least carried on the tradition established in the first game.....

I'm more worried they are going to turn DA2 into "fantasy mass effect 2"... I don't want that really.

But it sounds like you're counting race and name as two different choices. You had a choice of 6 origins, true, but once you chose Human Noble you were "Cousland" whether you liked it or not.

You couldn't choose your race then choose your last name. Choosing one or the other necessitated the other (or at least cut down your options a lot). If you want to be Human, then you are either Cousland or Amell, and if you want to be Amell then you have to be a Mage. Or if you want to be a Mage, you have to be a Human or Elf, and therefore you are either Amell or Surana. Then you can either choose race *or* last name. Race and surname (and sometimes class) are all combined.

Just think of Hawke as another Origin. You have one Origin this time instead of 6, true, but you can customize within that origin as well as you could in any of the Origins in DAO.

There may be a very good reason Hawke has to be human.

What? No. I couldn't care less about the Dwarves. :P

But I assure you, the fine fellow in my profile picture is neither gay nor crappy.

Honestly, SirOccam's avatar is hot.  Elven males are quite alluring in general.

What I don't want in DA2 is overbearing, male machismo characters that think anything that is delicate is "gay" unless I can stab them in the face for stealing my ice cream.;)

If/when Hawke has to choose sides, I don't want any one side to feel the "right one". I want that either every faction has reasonable justification, or that no faction has reasonable justification. If there are some that do and some that don't, the choice between them is going to be practically the same as choosing whether Hawke is evil or not.

as for my hawke, he will be a good guy until you get on his bad side which is insulting his family and party members, uses violence as a last resort but when he does.......let's just say you wouldn't want to ****** him off.

Oooo! Sounds like my kind of Hawke!

What I really don't want is anything "canned". For instance, all assassins are sociopaths, all wardens are grim, all dalish love nature and hate humans, all city elves are complacent. The more personality for npc's and playable areas the better.
