Sigh. Throwing my chip on the pile here as well because I've been struggling with this for over a month now. Win 7 64 bit, Radeon 4870, crashes during big fights or during large scene transitions pretty reliably unless processor affinity is dialed down to one core only (which then makes it run like crap).

No warning, just a straight Crash-To-Desktop. Roughly a 50/50 chance any time a large-ish fight breaks out, seems to get worse the longer I've been playing.

All DLC purchased and installed.

I spent a lot of money on this game; please, guys, tell me any future bug fixes haven't just been abandoned and now I'm stuck with something that doesn't work unless I cripple my PC to get it to run? I'm digging up threads that are over a year old about this same problem. This makes me really worried that I just wasted my cash and this is never going to be addressed. I'm really hoping that's not the case, but as it stands right now I've already been advising friends against purchasing the game for PC just because it doesn't seem like a solution for this is ever going to be forthcoming. I've seen virtually no official response to this problem but lots (lots!) of people complaining about it.

Is there any light at the end of the tunnel, or are we...Well, screwed?

Well, it appears my issue is more or less solved. It appeared that my video card was indeed crapped out and so I sent it back and they replaced it. I installed the latest patch, run it in compatibility mode and as an administrator and it has only crashed to desktop once. So far no blue screens of death or hard freezes.

This game is almost absolute garbage b/c of the random crashes.... that 1.04 patch once I downloaded it resulted in a random crash essentially every 10 minutes.. prior downloading it... it was fine. ... I want to like this game but I can't get over how ***** it is to have to play and just hope that it doesn't crap out on you randomly.

I completely agree.  I've been playing for about an hour tonight and have had 5 crashes, three all in the same battle that I have to keep fighting over and over again.  I've gotten in the habit of saving after every battle.

Also, it seems for me that Mana Clash causes a crash about 50% of the time.

I do the same thing of saving... i finally cleared it through and now happy to say I won't have to deal with it until I am super bored....

Actually my fav part is the forums so convoluted that I can't find anything that resembles a solution ... but I can find 100's of sites that document the same problems.

ATI HD 4850 with Vista 32 and a Windows 7 64. Both have the same problem.

The FPS will drop insanely as well just randomly and then be back to normal if you save it.... Essentially would be awesome if we could get someone to tag in a developer fix or tip to help ...

Just adding my 2 cents. I use to play this game without much problems prior to patch 1.03/1.04. Now I either have mad lag during gameplay and/or crashes. Also a Windows 7 64-bit user.

I'll add my two cents in as well...I just received this game as a gift from my brother. It crashes walking down a freakin hallway (after the fade on the second floor) several times now. I can handle a crash here or there but the hard restarts fragment my harddrive to crap, and this is a little much. I'll see if I can get it to work via the workarounds people have posted, but I resent my brother paying (in my opinion) too much for a broken product. I like Bioware, I like EA, but this will have a definite impact on whether either myself or my brother buy their "next greatest product". Seems like games are the only product you buy that you can't return if they're broke (but there's a LOT of people who DON'T sell broken products, and they'll get my business if I can't get this to work and maybe if I can). VERY BAD first impression

Love to help you, but a "don't work" without any info is a little hard to diagnose.

Hardware config, DXDiag info... those would make it easier to help you. Right now, I don't know if you are trying to run it on a 286 or the latest & greatest Intel processor.

Concerning Dragon age crashing,
It just started to do it to me when i go to presets that i have installed. they worked fine till i installed a few new mods and Dracomies textures. I did remove them but it still crashes when i try to use a preset and my hair from pineapple tree will not show up now.  :crying: I am new to installing mods as well but i did pay attention to instructions when installing.

Please discuss Mods in the Toolset pages. Basically, we try to discuss problems with each other in here rising out of the Original Campaign and Official Add-ons not Mods.

Throwing my 2 cents as well.

I keep getting occasional crashes. Vista 64, Nvidia 450, 4g mem, Tri Core 3.2Mhz. Been using full resolution for quite a while and sometimes certain points crash, after battle or after a cinematic scene. Funny thing is when I lowered the resolution from maximum, crashes stopped on mentioned situations. Lowering any other detail element won't help one bit, I must drop resolution or else...

My two cents. This game is frustrating. Can't get past sloth demon in fade w/out crashing. Can't save mid fight. Thus, game stuck at sloth demon.

Windows 7 64 bit, ATI Radeon 4560, 4gb RAM, AMD Phenom quad core.

I've concluded that this game is a rip off. Which is a shame, because it was fun.

If you want assistance with anything, you won't get it this way. Refer to Raen Imrahl's "Read First" sticky. You might also want to familiarize yourself better with your hardware. There never was any Radeon HD with the number "4560".
