King-Consort or Queen-Consort?
King-Consort.
But this is not mentioned anywhere in the game, I made it up. Just what I like to think happens after the game.

Who is she to call my Warden "churl" and tell me that my betters are talking? Especially since she comes from commoner roots herself?Xilizhra wrote...
A shame. Getting her to back down is quite rewarding (and the way Alistair talks about Loghain at the end of the Landsmeet feels rather smackworthy itself).
Sometimes I talk her down, sometimes I don't. She does have some moving lines, but she has no right to interfere with you at the LM door so if she has to die, that's the way it is.

She is technically a knight, and you're an outlaw.
But yes she did overstep her bounds there. Loghain puts her back in her place though.

I'm going to guess that she's referring to accomplishment-based betters, not betters by blood.

Yeah well, smack talk is smack talk. The Warden has already accomplished quite a bit by that point.Xilizhra wrote...

I wonder if when she intercepts you at the LM door, if she is acting on Loghain's orders or if she's off the reservation at that point. I could see it either way.

It would be pretty stupid on Loghain's part to have both the Warden and Alistair be killed right outside the Landsmeet chamber. If he wanted them dead that badly, he wouldn't have accepted the Landsmeet in the first place. He accepted to settle this by Landmseet so it wouldn't look like he is afraid. Killing you outside the Landsmeet will do just that.
So I think Cauthrian was acting on her own accord.

Well as you pointed out, he considers you brigands. You don't think Loghain would just as well have it done one way or another? He could easily try to paint it as the Warden's outlawry. I also get the impression Cauthrien doesn't do anything unless Loghain tells her to.KnightofPhoenix wrote...

OTOH, she is so loyal to him that this could be the one time she decides to take matters into her own hands.

If Loghain can easily kill you just outside the Landsmeet on charge of being an outlaw, then he didn't need to accept the Landsmeet in the first place. It would make him look very bad.
Notice how he doesn't even order your immediate execution if you surrender yourself to Cauthrien (or get beaten) in Howe's estate. As he would most probably try to put you on trial and then execute you so it doesn't look like he is eliminating his chief opponents before a Landsmeet.

Yeah, that's annoying but it seems kind of petty to kill her for it.Who is she to call my Warden "churl" and tell me that my betters are talking? Especially since she comes from commoner roots herself?
And given how completely unsurprised Loghain is to see you at the Landsmeet, he either had no idea or fully expected Cauthrien to get herself killed. I can't see him having her make a suicide attack like that and then never even mentioning it.

I don't kill her for it. I kill her for... trying to kill me.Sarah1281 wrote...

You would have to reckon with certain death either way. If you surrender, you can reckon with a bit of torture as well.Xilizhra wrote...
I would, upon seeing the size and toughness of her guard force.

What does Howe's dungeon have to do with it? It's his personal dungeon that doesn't necessarily reflect on anywhere you're going and Howe's dead so he won't have a say in what happens to you.blothulfur wrote...
Never knew you could meet her twice she always died at howe estate, would anybody realistically surrender after seeing howes dungeon.
