Hello, first time poster here, so apologies if this has come up before....

I currently cannot get my copy of the toolset to work, so my plan to work on it myself isn't working.

Also, I'm not sure if anybody has started work on the idea independently.

Is anybody in the process of working on a mod that would include some of the more interesting armor and possibly weapon pieces of the classical age?  I feel that some of them, especially Corinthian style helmets, and lorica segmentata based armor would fit well within the Dragon Age world.

And if nobody is, would anybody be interested in taking up the challenge?

They'd look great, but would be more at home in a Total Conversion sort of thing.. They're more archaic than the Dragon Age world (which is more closely based on late-Medieval Europe).

That sounds excellent and wouldn't be too out of place--take a look at leather armor, for instance. One could say they came from Tevinter.

My thoughts on it aren't even that they have to be "Greek" or "Roman," simply more an inspirational idea. There are already some very Greco-Roman-esque armors in the game, with most of the heavy infantry helmets borrowing some design from classical designs rather than medieval designs (at least IMO). Personally, I think a set of armor that borrows from the lorica segmentata maybe with a cloak running over the shoulders would fit perfectly with the theme of the game and add some nice style.

I support this post. I'm not sure I would like any armor copied directly from its historical counterpart, but I see no reason to not take influences from various time periods and use them as reference to build something that is uniquely DA.

While I understand the desire for different armours, I must urge people to be realistic - armours are probably the hardest models to create (because of the bones, the need for 7 different versions of each armour and the fact that we cannot properly import new armour models yet.

Sure, they will be doable, but a bit of patience is required.
