Thanks for the interview. I enjoyed it. :) Hearing a bit about the storytelling approach to DA2 and foreshadowing for the IP as a whole was quite interesting.

I'm reeeeeally excited for the follower-specific quests and getting to butt in on their lives. That sounds awesome. >:D

Nice! Thanks for doing the podcast Mr Gaider, always fun hearing your thoughts heh. Good to hear companion quests are back with a bang, although I kinda hope one of the followers makes a point of asking whether you ever mind your own business or something...

Swashbuckling transvestite nug companion: "I'm sorry but this is sort of personal Hawke? I'm not sure I want you involved. In fact I was thinking of getting Varric's help with it, he's so dreamy."

Hawke:

1 - "awww c'mon!" :(

2 - "Well, okay, I always thought you were weird anyway."

3 - "He is dreamy isn't he?"

4 - "You'll let me help you or it's nug roasting time!" *sinister cackle*

Also: Oh no he said 'emotional engagement' it really is Dragon Effect! :o

On a more serious note I'm still in love with the little bit of music the podcast ends on.  Is that new for DA2 or something I missed from the Origins soundtrack?

I think it's the first song that plays during the end credits, isn't it? Well, a remix version of that song.

I'm very curious about smashing the sandcastle- presumably thats part of the "change" Morrigan mentions in Witch Hunt. How drastic of a change are we talking here? Like forever alter the landscape of Thedas type change? Like open a big ol' Eluvian and let the Fade invade half of Thedas or some sort of WoW Cataclysm type change?

I'm curious about that too but I'm sure we're not going to get any elaboration on that point right now.

Oh, it just seems as if DA2 is maybe when they start kicking down the sandcastle and then DA3 may be when it gets demolished...ugh...I want to skip ahead to DA3 dammit! XD

I had Dalish related questions (no surprise there), though one is more general in nature, just in case a dev passes by and is feeling generous and has some time to burn and all that.  ;)

David says that the we will see the clan the PC can originate from in DA2...I've always wondered if Mahariel is the clan name, or is a last name within a seperately named clan.  We know that the Dalish are the descendents of the noble elven families - are clans individuals families/retainers that escaped together, or groups of families that escaped together and banded together as a clan?

The more general one - there is mention that choices from Origins would affect who we might see in DA2...is it possible for individual origins to affect that as well?  It would, for instance, seem to not make much sense to see the PC's potential clan close to the time of the coronation ceremony in the game of a Dalish PC since the clan apparently comes to Denerim for the event, though events before or maybe even after that time period could be explained.  Another thing that one could potentially imagine impacting their presence is the Dalish-specific boon, in which case one might imagine the clan staying in the Hinterlands.

There's no need to comment on the specific cases presented, but I am curious if the origin of a game can affect events throughout DA2.

Yeah it sounds similar but being a remix or whatever I wasn't sure if it was new as I've never seen the remix listed with the soundtrack etc. We still don't know if Aubrey Ashburn is back for DA2 do we?

@Calla: Yeah I'm liking the focus on the Templar/Mage dynamic as it has great story telling potential even after Origins. The Varric narrated cinematic of Team Hawke sailing to Kirkwall is very foreboding in regards to the Templar stronghold stuff too, I get the feeling Kirkwall isn't going to be all sunshine and lollypops for our team, especially the mages. I wouldn't mind seeing an 'escape from Kirkwall' moment pop up in the game seeing as some of the companions seem to live there and go about their lives there when not questing  (from info we've pieced together), so having a portion of the game where Kirkwall turns on Team Hawke and you have to flee to somewhere outside it's walls could have real gravitas and drama. /tangent.

The ending credit song is... shall we say, incredibly good so far? I want the full track. I bought suicide mission from ME2, now I want this.
