I don't like Morinth. She would be a more sympathetic figure if she didn't kill. If she took a moral stand like that, it would give me pause in my assessment of her situation.

Yeah she should do the whole Dexter thing and seduce murderers and rapists. Wait that might make her worse.

Its much better then what she does now.

Maybe because it'd be feeding her dangerous addiction, which also happens to make her more powerful with each victim she kills. It's a great risk to take.

There's no good in Morinth. Even if her DNA influences her, she is a sapient being and thus not bound to instinct. She enjoys the hunt and the kill, pure and simple. She's worse than a mad dog--the mad dog can't help itself, but she most likely can. She just doesn't. If you don't seduce her, I'm sure she'll behave herself as long as she's on your ship, but the moment the mission ends, watch out.
As for Samara's other daughters, maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I think she killed them, too. But there's something fishy about Samara, to me. She doesn't appear to be Ardat-Yakshi because she's clearly not sterile (she had daughters). And yet... Didn't some NPC mention wine made by the Ardat-Yakshi? They're very powerful biotics, and they'd probably make great Justicars if they were under control.

Agreed.
The 1st victim MAY have been an accident (if she didn't know she had the condition), any after that she made the CHOICE to do it.
So her line with Samara "I didn't choose to be what I am... Mother!" was a lie. Not outright, sure she was born with the condition, but her actions after she knew what she can do were her choice.
Thus she is now a sexual predator.
From her conversations she takes delight in hunting and "devouring" her vitims. All her feigned innocence due to her condition is an act.
Not to say my Renegade Adept didn't recruit her, or that my upcoming Renegade Vanguard won't either (although in that playthrough she like all bar DLC characters will not survive the SM)...
Just that she is what she is and not to be justified/dismissed away (sorry couldn't think of the right terminology Edit: nearest term I can think of atm is: sugarcoated)

Well it should be noted that the 'responsible and moral thing' is a lifetime (1000+ years) of isolation and chastity.Gibb_Shepard wrote...

Morinth's a very interesting character, way more interesting than some of the other squadmates we have to recruit. Too bad her content is short

I hope there will be more Morinth in ME3, but considering the small amount of people who'd recruit her, I can't see it happening.

I've never recruited Morinth, and the only way I would is if I were playing a pure renegade--which would mean that recruiting Samara would be foolish at best in the first place.

This is exactly what I love about her. No remorse. None of that I'm-a-bad-person-but-you-can-reform-me nonsense. It's one of the reasons I love Palpatine. There seem to be so few characters across all genres who are cruel simply because that's what they desire and enjoy.

I do however believe Ardat Yakshi are mistreated by the asari. Being imprisoned for your sickness is inexcusable. It would be like imprisoning AIDs patients.

No, it's like giving a compulsive murderer a choice.
- Fight your condition and you can be treated well and live in a closed society and perhaps even have the chance to do some good.
- Or we can kill you and end your ability to torment and take lives.
