I'm about seven and two-thirds percent done with TWA 2 and I have the basic plot and setting and everything worked out in my head.  Before I get too far into it, I thought I would ask for suggestions and see if there is anything anyone would like to see happen.  In case you are thinking of suggesting it, catapulting gnomes over fences for distance and accuracy is something I *want* to do, but I don't have the animations for it.  Ah well, such is life....

So....what would you like to see?

You should mention that to Pain on the IRC chat, he's got catapulting worked out (no seriously, he does or is working on it, with angles and such).
And we have working catapults
http://nwvault.ign.c...l.Detail&id=233
And boulder throwing
http://nwvault.ign.c...l.Detail&id=359

So you see, catapulting gnomes over fences for distance and accuracy is something you totally could do.
You could even give them this :o face in a static camera shot.

Now we can catapultt gnomme ! Thanks to Pain.

For a wizard, it's always been super cool to be able to construct a golem, and that golem becomming a henchmen.

Loved how you implemented spell use into quests in the first mod, and I'm sure you don't need to be told, but - more of this! Reduce/Enlarge person, charm person etc. Also including spell use (if you have them memorised) into conversations, and feat/skill convo options too.

A quest where you have to use a familiar in some way (there's a mod called called Dragonglade which has a quest that can only be solved if you have an animal companion of some sort, thought this was a really nice idea).

And I like Shallina's idea of constructing a henchman. Or maybe some way of being able to long term charm/dominate someone who is otherwise an enemy?

If you go the construct route, consider having a Shield Guardian(with scripted in spell storing). It would be really cool, unique and, well, I think the creature concept is rather underused.

Not sure how relevant this is to your story, but....

An enchanted forest would make an interesting area to explore, especially if it were populated by trees that sometimes move about, strange effects, various magical creatures and glades, plus some sections that can only be reached with help from the indigenous faerie population (with lots of unusual magical loot). Perhaps have a chaotic area populated by members of the unseelie court.

A feature I enjoyed in some older CRPGs (and some in-person games) is a structure that uses teleportation to navigate about, especially if it is unexpected and somewhat unpredictable.

About the catapulting. I am stoked to get it in. I'll have to find this "IRC chat" and speak with "pain" (I feel like my journal should be updating about now...). If I can get some good looking catapulting that would be great. I really wanted to do it!

I am already planning on using the working catapult from the vault.

Famous people: Sounds like fun. I will do my best.

keep 'em coming.

All the other suggestions are great and I think it is reasonable that I will be able to implement them in some fashion.

-Construct: Love it. Sort of embarrassed I didn't think of it.

-Enchanted forest: I was planning on putting something like this in, and I will incorporate these suggestions.

-Incorporation of spells into quests: definitely

-Incorporating spells into conversations: I want to, but I am want to make it good. I found this feature sort of annoying in SOZ. I remember a certain door you could only get into if you had darkness memorized at the time you tried the door. I thought that was a little obscure. I suppose I will have to figure out a way to make the use of spells in conversation a little more accessible and user friendly. Suggestions welcome.

I really enjoyed the implementation of spells you used. I think as long as you stay to that model you will have continued success and grow your fan base.

For inspiration on games I work on I usually play old abandonware games. I don't know if that is how you get your engines warmed up, but I found two that might help you.
