How to Import Awakenings into the Origins Campaign

How
to add Awakening items and abilities to Origins[/b]

First thing you need to do is
make a folder in your document/bioware/dragonage/packages/override called
contents with a subfolder called addins.[/b]

Now you go to my computer and
open the Dvd drive that has you Awakenings disc in it to view the files. You
then go into the data folder and drag and drop the ep1core rar file to your
desktop. To make this clear not the ep1 core campaign only the ep1 core file.[/b]

Once this is copied to your
desktop open it and extract all the files to your new subfolder called addins
in your override folder that we discussed earlier. From there you can create
new modules for your game using the custom weapon and armor meshes from
awakenings including tier 8-9 weapons and armor with the new abilities as well.[/b]

If you want to import the
original item from awakenings into your inventory in origins you will need this
mods for your game as well so you add them via the command console. [/b]

One thing this modification to
Origins also does is it make a new origin story so to speak available, that
being the Orlegion Grey Warden. Your story starts out as a human noble but then
changes from Ostagar on as the Grey Warden Origin. This adds and changes some
of the dialogue options with all the characters for the most part in the game.
With voice acting before this I had not heard from any of the other origin
stories. That was a happy accident and was not my intention by doing this, all
I originally wanted was the items and armor and abilities. The new Origin story
and dialogue was just a bonus.[/b]

One thing I also wanted to add it that if you want to search out other uti commands all you need to do is drag and drop the erf file designer item from the ep1 core file into your toolset in order to view the full uti for the additem commands.



Also when you you do this it also raises your level cap in Origins to level 35. I have been running this on a new game and have not run into any issues, if for some reason you run into any conflicts that I have not just delete the ep1 core file from your override folder.

Most awakening items, specialisations and spells/talents require level 18 at least, unless you cheat, you won't have it before the landsmeet if at all.

But great tutorial anywayas, there must be something a lvl<18 char could use there.

Yeah this is mostly for people like myself that have played through the game over 12 times, and don't care about cheating to use the items or gain the speciallisations. At this point for me finding out how to gain those items and specs was more fun than playing the game for the 100th time lol.;)

Shameless bump, but im curious about his.

How buggy will OC become if one attempt this, and have anyone actually tried an orlesian warden and maybe made a video with the new dialog?. =)

Just noticed this, giving it a try now so far so good, in starting a new game i noticed in the Human Noble camp. you dont have the option to name your dog, not a big deal you still have the dog.
the stamina potions show the uti name but so far kind of cool, will continue on to see if it crash's and will update.

60% game complete not any hugh problems
1=no music
2=dog has no war dog tactics only custom not a big problem
3=seems all the new items just show uti file name (again not a big problem)
4=so far no meteor rock random encounter might still happen

EDIT:
To Fix Music delete goto Addins\\packages\\core_ep1\\audio\\sound and delete 4 music.fsb files and 1 .fev file
To Fix Dog and Shale Tactics edit 2da.erf and delete tacticsuserpresets.gda (copy original to desktop then edit)
still messing with encounters:alien:

Found another caged in stone not working, in the throne room the floor tiles

Don't work, we need a list of files that should be deleted from the 2da file etc

Hi,

Everything works but I have polish version and I don’t have signatures for specjalizations and skills. What should i do to have it?

yes everything works but descriptions are not right, I think some tweaking of the 2da file is needed
some things might need to be deleted and some thing maybe renamed, I am not sure we need an expert lol, I have not played for a long while and i forgot most of the stuff about the game, so right now its trial and error, But i think its possible to have it working the right way with descriptions, darkshadows post is a step in the right direction but much more is needed.
Most of the skills you will never reach the level to use anyway, but the items makes it all worth it, If you have an extra xp item and do every single quest at the most you might make it to level 22 without cheating, but its something to do so why not :devil:

Uncompiled 2DAs can be opened and edited in Microsoft Excel 2003 or later
Compiled 2DAs (.gda files) can be opened with a special program, sorry, I can't give you link, but it's called GDApp.

ok i got it working 100% now went through the game 3 times no bugs, but you do have to edit some 2da files,
now im replacing the OG Creatures with the new ones, LOL DarkSpawn Disciple's in the Glory Proving with the new skills oh what fun !!
