I'm quite positive this just boils down to my personal preferences, but the default Miranda (wide forehead, buckteeth) just makes me want to "stay dead."  I thought Ashley's exaggerated lashes were funny but Miranda just looks.... wrong.  Listening to her sounds wrong as well.  I was wondering if anyone has "remedied" this situation besides changing hair color or costume?

She is modeled after Yvonne Strahovski, down to the teeth.







I would say her face isn't ugly, it just animates badly. The facial animations have to be general enough to accompany a wide range of Shepard's faces, meaning they aren't tailored to specific faces. This creates an Uncanny Valley effect on such highly detailed faces--especially because Yvonne's face is very angular.



As for the long eyelashes thing, that's just the normal for the female models. I really hate it.

I'm just looking for a "different" face, hopefully a "better" one. And the in-game Yvonne is not anywhere near the real one IMHO.

yeah plenty of mods out there for pc (not sure about xbox). I'm sure you can find one in the modding forum or one of the many modding groups. If you can't find it there there is a modding website out for me2 which I won't post here cause BW might think badly of me.

Look at it this way: Miranda's "Perfect" therefore she would be a turnoff for some people. (One of the reasons I pretend my Sheps were never interested in her) they may like her personality but she's so perfect looking that  she comes off as completely unnatural and a complete turn off.

Please note: I'm referring to her looks not her personality.

Don't get me wrong guys, I'm not saying one thing is better than another or that Miranda is perfect/imperfect/beautiful/ugly. All I'm saying is that I find her wide face and buck teeth to be "not in tune" with the femme fatale image that I've come to expect (from reading the art book/concept of Miranda). Heck, Liara from ME1 is more femme fatale than Miranda for my taste.



I was just hoping someone has made a "fix" for her, maybe make her look "hotter."



Such a pity with all the polish that's gone to ME2, they seem to have missed Miranda.... then again maybe the devs like that kind of beauty.

maybe that's more of the airbrushing that happens IRL that's distorting perceptions of beauty rather than any interpretation seeming "ugly"

I have only seen one human squad member whose face does not take the ocasional trip to the uncanny valley. Jack.

Jacob spends half his time there, Miranda makes two visits a week, Kadan/Ashley somehow find the time to visit even though they only get about three minutes of screem time.

Lol.. so true. In ME1 we had Ashley and Liara, and both were great. Now we have Jacko, baldy and a nerd in a costume...
I hope we get Liara and Ashley back for ME3. Hey.. at least it wasn't too hard to stay faithful.

To me, it wasn't too hard to stay single in ME1. And it will be easy to stay faithful to Miranda in ME3.

Could not agree more. The best looking girl was a bald, trucker-mouthed sociopath. 

Miranda is just... ehh. I'm killing her off for my canon playthrough. They should have used someone every man and woman finds attractive... Charlize Theron, anyone?

EDIT: Sorry, I thought you meant ME 2. I find Yvonne repulsive.

Well, obviously Miranda falls right into Yannkee's tastes. I wish I could say she looks "alright" but with ME1's Ashley and Liara looking better than Miranda, I just don't know. We all have different tastes and ME2's Miranda doesn't quite fall into my ballpark.



Character-wise, voice-wise, Miranda is ok. I guess Saibh said it well when he said the ME2 cast just doesn't animate too well.
