I liked Morrigan. She's an interesting character who was dealing with really venturing outside the Kocari Wilds for the first time in her life; an illegal mage who was going to help save a nation that hates and fears all mages because of a story that the Chantry claims is the inception behind the Blight. The biggest argument I've heard about her is that she disapproves of certain choices, but Morrigan disapproves when the Warden elects to do quests that detract from the main mission of saving all of Ferelden, like resolving a dispute over food or helping a Dalish boy score with his dream girl. In her POV, she figures the Warden needs to resolve the dilemma that threatens all life, and the Warden's busy playing match maker? She's helping the Warden save a nation that's hunted her and others like her down to the death. Even when it comes to the dark ritual, her goal is to preserve something no one has any real understanding of. The dark ritual consists of her wanting to preserve the soul of an old god untainted by darkspawn, and given her desire to be left alone, I don't see how this is evil. It's only a dark ritual because it involves blood magic, but all it does is preserve your life from the destruction of your body and soul.

Lol hated him. Even before dwarven noble origin which reveals the full range of his crimes. He basically murders his whole family to become king. He is truely evil in my eyes. The only thing I like about him is that he gave me an easy choice to support Harrowmont. Something we don't agree either I guess

I can't say I like evil characters. What I like in supposed evil characters is when I can understand their motivation. Like Loghain.
LOL He's not that evil. If he was the dwarves wouldn't have improved.
Bhelen's trying to make the dwarven kingdom better for himself and ends up making it better for a lot of other people as well. It may not be the nicest way but it got results. Which to my warden was all that mattered.
I dislike Loghain. I understand why he did it but he hasn't survived any of my games. I marry off Alistair and Anora and feed Loghain to the archedemon.
At least he can redeem himself with that.
(Then again I play human nobles who blame him and Howe for their family's slaughter. They see Loghain and see their nephew on the ground dead and just go into a berserker rage).
Though I just saw the second part. The fade. Oh god no. Not again. Never again! *cowers*
The Fade was
horrible.

Well Bhelen doesn't exactly do it for the benefit of Orzammar. Everything he does he is doing for himself only. That it ends up so well for him and benefits all dwarves is sort of ironical, but such things happen. Harrowmond is a weak leader but a good man at heart. Thing is if you play dwarven noble, Bhelen is basically trying to kill you even though nobody can at this point say whether you are good or bad for Orzammar. I mean you could have done the same things as him. But that doesn't matter to him. He wants to be king, no matter what. And that's why it was a pleasure for me to keep it from happening. Btw, if you play dwarven origin and place Harrowmont on the throne you get to follow him on the throne when he passes away.
Why is Bhelen's ambition so bad? He gives more rights to the casteless, he regains lost thaigs, he improves the relations with the surface world, and he's seen by many as a great reformer. Harrowmont, on the other hand, wants everything to remain exactly as it is - including the casteless, who have no rights and are treated as less than people by the nobles like Harrowmont. As King, Harrowmont leaves Orzammar in ruins - he's a bad leader, the casteless are still in the same place they have been for centuries, there's no trade with the surface world, and the suface world can attack Orzammar if Branka was supported because Harrowmont is incapable of handling her.

Yeah, that article was just mining from that interview with Laidlaw posted a couple days ago where he simply said they weren't done with Morrigan's story. But she isn't coming back for DA2- Gaider said at PAX that there will be no Claudia Black VO in DA2 and given how WH ended I doubt Morrigan will show up except maybe at the very very end.
Or at least thats what I hope- have the last scene be the world at war, the Chantry in ruins, Flemeth doing who knows what. Pan over to some dilapidated Eluvian in some Elven/Tevinter ruin only to see a foot step out of the portal, followed by 2 other people- slowly pan up to reveal Morrigan, the Old God Kid and the Warden back to kick some ass and save the day! Hoooooray!
Seriously i really have no problem with you getting that, provided your willing to allow me my own version which goes something like this;
Or at least thats what I hope- have the last scene be the world at war, the Chantry in ruins, Flemeth doing who knows what. Pan over to some dilapidated Eluvian in some Elven/Tevinter ruin only to see a foot step out of the portal, slowly pan up to reveal Morrigan. The camera futher pans back to show my warden standing next to Leliana with an arrow drawn. With a nod my warden signals to Leliana to release the arrow which is released with a slow motion following of the arrow while in flight. The arrow slams into Morrigan's forehead snapping it back spraying warm blood on the shimmering surface of the once fluid Eluvian. Morrigan then falls to her knees, then falls to her face with the protruding arrow forcing her head back at an unnatural angle, as a pool of blood starts to collect around her still warm but lifeless body. The warden then turns to her love, with a peck on the cheek and a slap on the ass says," half of the problem is solved now let us go find Flemeth and end this nonsense once and for all".
Asai
I'm going to take a wild guess that you aren't a fan of Morrigan. As for Leliana killing Morrigan, I don't think it's realistic. Like Wynne, Leliana disapproves if the Warden decides to lie to Morrigan about Flemeth being dead. Despite their arguments about the Maker, Leliana doesn't think Flemeth should be spared if it means that Morrigan would end up dead.

You might try talking to her, instead of creating caricatures and being bitter that every companion is not a sponge soaking up all your Warden's opinions and regurgitating them back.
I do.
I really did think her character had allot of potential... but she really does end up being single minded, selfish, and one dimentional. (imo)
She's an illegal mage who helps the Warden save a nation that reviles and hates mages outright, regardless of whether they're under the thumb of the Chantry or not. How is that one-dimensional? Nothing in DA is black and white. Characters like Sten, Wynne, and Morrigan are given dimension. Every one of the companions has their reasons for aiding the Warden. No one is wearing a white or black hat in this game, and it’s something I credit the creators for. Morrigan is the pragmatist to Alistair’s idealist. She's helping the Warden save Ferelden. She argues for results that enpower the Warden. Her opinions tend to walk that line based on Flemeth's teachings. I think she's a complex character.

Funny, Leliana was actually number two or three in the poll of the most liked character in the game. She's a bit eccentric and the constant Maker talk grinds on me a bit but I otherwise like her.
But most people only like her for her looks. I'm sure if she looked like Flemeth and spoke with another accent she wouldn't have any support threads.
*eyeroll*
Do you see how retarded it is when it gets directed at a character you like?
Of course there would be a difference...for one, people wouldn't bed her. But as long as her personality is hte same, that would be the only difference.
Leliana: I like
Old, ugly Leli: still like (like Wynne)
Morrigan: Meh.
Old, ugly Morrigan: Stabbity.

I take it your pro-Chantry and anti-mage stance has everything to do with that particular feeling.
In regards to black-and-white, Bioware did make two characters who were pretty mcuh nothing but monsters; Vaughan and Arl Howe (well, Howe is understandable. The man was voiced by Tim Curry).
