Nobody is forcing you to like Morrigan. You can side against her all the way through the game if it pleases you, and even make her leave your party. But just because you don't get to kill her... you through a tantrum like a child, on the internet.
Morrigan & Flemeth are the most interesting characters in DA, in my opinion.  Why can't you be happy for the rest of the players who want to see the rest of Morrigan's story?

Wow. Trying to use gender as an excuse. IN that case all males who like Alistair are totally hating on his popularity.

Not possible to just dislike a character regardless of gender eh. I'd hate Morrigan if she was a male too you realize? 

As long as I can completely ignore her in any future DA games I really don't care. But she's just as hypocritcal and foolish as the rest of your companions. (with the exception of Sten, he at least stands by what he says) .

Also...godbaby is OPTIONAL canon. So the likelyhood of it being major is ZERO. If you've played BW games you should realize all choices boil down to either Cameos or a differnet epilogue.

(Or rarely a side mission that has a exact counterpart with a different character if you didn't make the choice and a slight difference. Never enough to actually hinder gameplay.) 

FYI: I've romanced *everyone* including Morrigan. Frankly that didn't help me like her more but merely laugh more at her hypocrisy during WH.

Edit: Also meeting Morrigan as anyone other than the Warden is really going ot be lame. They should have just stettled this in DA1 rather than trying to drag it out. At this point I could care less what Morrigan's planning. I do want to know how powerful Flemeth is though.

Female gamer here, and enjoy Morrigan's story very much. Not "into" her because of her looks, but because of the development of the relationship she has with the Warden, and the possibilities in her story line. Flemeth fascinates me, too, and I am interested to see what more we learn of her in DA2 (hoping we see a Flemeth/Morrigan showdown in the next game, maybe even where we could choose which side we'd prefer to play on!). Played through DAO with a female Warden first, loved the friendship she and Morrigan ended up developing, it was brilliantly written and exciting to see Morrigan realize what a "friend" was (and to feel like the Warden had truly been a part in helping her realize that). Played through with a male Warden next go through and did the romance. Also quite fun.

In my second play through, I left Loghain alive. He's also a very deep character. Didn't leave him alive because of any attractiveness (though both Morrigan and Loghain's voice actors were marvelously chosen). It was a huge moral decision to leave him alive or not. If anyone made "evil" choices, Loghain did. Much more so than anything relating to Morrigan and her misguided ideas on life, love, and other mysteries. The question becomes, is redemption possible? A lot comes down to your views of "redemption." Did Morrigan also need "redemption?" Or was she just lacking in proper teaching? Wish we could have gotten Loghain sooner, so there would be more to his character development after he becomes a Warden.  We get Morrigan first thing, so we have much longer to delve into a well written and deep character. One just has to have the patience to build the friendship. Such is often true of the people who become one's deepest friends in real life (minus the living in the woods for 20+ years with little to no regular human contact and being raised by a witch who eats men for breakfast LOL!), it takes time and work to really build the best relationships, with mistakes made (approval lost and gained, ha ha) along the way.

I take it your another girl? By the way I will say that I meant no offence, I was indicating the too girls who said "I want Morrigan to die!" and the other one who through a fit. Seems to me that it's mostly female gamers who hate Morrigan, sure their is the odd bloke too, and some girls love Morrigan, who don't resort to posting hate comments over and over again.

If you don't like her side against her, but just because BioWare don't give you a kill option...people type on these forums like Morrigan killed their mother. Morrigan was the ONLY companion you couldn't kill off in Origins, so her role is important in some way. Plus BioWare have stated that their will be more Morrigan.

I don't like her because frankly I never could call her on her s***. I don't mind not being able to kill her but I can't even *facepalm* or point out her idiot ideas? Really? It's like the PC loses 50 IQ points when talking to her. <_< (Wynne too for that matter).

But everyone plays differently. I don't know why people are slamming others for how they experienced the game.

Morrigan. You can with everyone else. So there's no "Oh but-" thing going on. She's the only companion you can't make disappear.

Now. This is all moot if I don't
have to deal with her in any way other than a boss battle. I frankly
won't care. But I don't want to have to take her in my group as a
companion (luckily in the first game I could tell her to GTFO whenever I
saw her). I don't want her to be some quest giver, I don't want to see her other than background noise.

Eh, don't really see what the furor is about.

If you like/love Morrigan you'll be looking forward to seeing her again, and are free to either be like Double Rainbow Guy, fear that she'll be a one-size-fits-all Morrigan as if the Warden never met her, or anything inbetween.

If you truly hate Morrigan you'll probably be able to kill her and/or screw her plans over in DA3.

If you're indifferent about Morrigan you have a very rare mind and should treasure it [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/wizard.png[/smilie]


On a slight tangent I'm not sure why hating a character or believing they are one-dimensional means they shouldn't be part of DA's main plot or should be killable. Plenty of people hated Anora, and she's guaranteed to survive Origins. No matter how much you despise Alistair (for the record he's one of my favourite characters, /flame shield), it doesn't change the fact that he's easily one of the most important characters in Origins' story and will be in your party for the vast bulk of the game.

Besides, the only companion you could really argue is one-dimensional is Dog, and he's so full of awesome it doesn't matter.

Oh another thing: I wonder which MOrrigan they'll bring back. The same Morrigan from before when the Warden kicked her out of their party? The lovelorn Morrigan? The one who was betrayed by the one she loved? The one who got what she wanted? The one who didn't? The one who was betrayed by a friend? The one who never experienced love? The one who experienced friendship but never love? 

Another problem. At this point their are so many different ways the Warden could have treated Morrigan to change her that any one set personality is going to be inconsistent to someone's game. And *no* they're not going to do them all, they're probably going to handwave it just like they did Garrus. le sigh.

Well it's our own fault. If we didn't neglect them for a video game they wouldn't come here to screw them up. Well but that's basically Bioware's fault. If they just made Morrigan fat and ugly we wouldn't have this kind of problem.

You expect BioWare to add more dialog, just so YOU think the characters are smarter?

And you can attempt to kill Morrigan in Witch Hunt. She just doesn't stay dead. Also I wanted to kill Teagan, Arl Eamon, Anora, Goldanna, Wade ect. I demand the right to kill these characters! Boo hoo. Bottom line...is you can't expect to kill off every character, if BioWare has plans for them.

Monsters or creatures, are different they hold no dialog themselves, they were meant for killing.

Actually it does. In the future BioWare can only give you so much Alistair now, because some players wed Anora & killed him off.

No-one's forcing you to like anyone. As a matter of fact, there's no character in the game that we force anyone to like. Hating a character is a valid response, and utterly intentional-- Morrigan in particular is designed to be loved and hated.

No-one's forcing you to like anyone. As a matter of fact, there's no character in the game that we force anyone to like. Hating a character is a valid response, and utterly intentional-- Morrigan in particular is designed to be loved and hated.

And when Oghren makes another appearance, I will personally murder every single Bioware employee. 

Fortunately, Guild Wars 2 will likely release at the same time thus I won't buy DA2 at that point anyway. And when you are forced to help or assist her in DA2, pirating is the way to go.

As for everyone else, we've not said one way or the other how Morrigan's story will continue or if she'll even appear in DA2. Stop leaping to conclusions and you'll be a lot healthier.
