I purchased the game the day it came out, and had zero problem playing it for a week or so. Just yesterday I started to have this problem where I would get a message on the start screen that said the "Dragon Age servers are temporarily unavailable." This problem lasted for only an hour or so, and then I was able to play for the rest of the night.

Today though, I've not been able to get on for the past 3 hours or so. It continues to say the servers are temporarily unavailable. I'm simply curious if the servers actually go down for this long for a game that isn't even played online, or if it's something on my end. I checked out the tech support page, and found a question somewhat similiar to mine. I tried reseting the router and all that, and haven't had any success.

Has anyone else had similiar problems on the Xbox 360 version? And were you able to fix it if so? (Or are the servers actually just down for whatever reason, and I have to wait it out?)

Many many people. It seems to be primarily CE items and DA:J unlocks that prevent you from playing offline (or, stated another way, require constant re-authorization). Unfortunately, you aren't likely to see any official responses in this forum, since all tech support must go through EA now that the game is live.

As for why the servers are unavailable, it's entirely possible that the servers are overloaded or down for maintenance. EA IT seems to have dropped the ball on the DA:O rollout, and with the recent announcement of layoffs I expect things will continue to be dodgy for a while. Hopefully the problem will be corrected soon, though. I'm contemplating removing DLC so the servers don't dictate when I can play an offline single-player game...

I appreciate the response. That's crummy news indeed. Hopefully things will be sorted out soon enough. :(
