I am a Female Elf Mage.  Is that the reason why Morrigan is such a wench to me?  Everything I do, she disapproves of.

Without spoilers, is there any depth to this character or is she as shallow as she appears?  Her magic is helpful in combat but other than that, I wanna kick her in the face.  <_<

To put it simply, if you're not an ass to absolutely everyone unless she specifically says otherwise, she'll disapprove.

from what i hear, she'll always disapprove of deeds that require you to help others for no return (well, except exp, but that doesn't count in terms of immersion =p). Survival of the fittest, do it yourself or get something in return. Basically as long as you ask the quest giver for something in return I don't think she'd disapprove.

She's a biznatch regardless of what race or class you play. If you help people, you get a negative approval from her.

I sent her packing as soon as I met Leilana. I couldn't stand her constant nagging and sour attitude.

But there is more to her than meets the eye. She is not as shallow as she appears. She is a witch with a capital B, though.

She likes my female human mage well enough. But I usually pick the snarky dialog options for her. Some characters will respond to your character being nice and charitable, others will respond better if your character is harsh.

She's definitely the most fickle of the group, I'd say. It's hard to do all the sidequests w/ her, since many involve helping the helpless...

She'll even accept strange things... like an ox bone w/ tendons!  At first I gave it to her as a joke, but then she was like "thank you"... haha

Nah, you're more than entitled to your opinion, of course. I just happen to think she's a great character - her perpetually arched eyebrow is refreshing.

I noticed this when talking to dwarves and Shen...they don't react well to politeness. If you're blunt and aggressive toward them in you dialogue choices, you will get better results.

As Fester did, I just left Morrigan in the camp as soon as I could replace her. No gifts, nothing. She's just exiled, .

She appears to be a big pompous buffoon, but inside there's a small naive child, but then you remember outside she's a big pompous buffoon.

She is a bit a b*tch... but I like her.



There is a bit more to her than you first see, I think. One bit of party banter between her and Lilianna springs to mind (Lilianna hits a soft spot)

The first time I heard Morrigan's voice I realized it was Claudia Black, and thinking about her makes me think about Vala Mal Doran in the StarGate SG-1 series. And thinking about Vala Mal Doran makes me sick, so when I had the chance, the first one, to tell Morrigan to get the heck out of my group I did so, gladly.

Sorry Claudia... it's not against you, you just seem to get roles for
some weirdo women. Additionally, Morrigan is not entirely.... sincere,
ultimately she does things that will sooner or later benefit her in a
way or another, directly or not, if all plans goes as she wants, which
is another very good reason to not develop any form of friendship
relation with her, unless you actually role play a character with a
similar persona.

Also she ambraces loneliness, she hates close relationships, she thinks love is a weakness, she does not believe nor practice any form of religion. She doesn't even have a heart made of stone, she just doesn't have any heart at all. But, oh, wait, if you give her the proper gifts, ooops, all of a sudden she wants to lay with you? Especially if it means doing things for her own benefits.
