Well here I am... I is trying to use some dazip files and that is the entire error message I get when I attempt to open them.  What am I doing wrong?  Everything is 100% legit.

can't open them. Is it a mod download from the Projects section of the board (like the free storage chest mod for your camp)? You use the daupdater to install the dazip and then it becomes available in the game

I was getting the same message; Fixed it by running the updater directly (in Program Files\\Dragon Age\\Bin_ship\\ ) and selecting the .dazips instead of trying to install them using the file association.

First of all, try the following steps:

1. Open the DA Updater program.

2. Drag the .dazip into it.

3. Select it and hit install.

If that doesn't work, check the documentation on the specific mod - since the project space doesn't accept anything except for images and .dazips, some mods require you to open the .dazip in an archive program and do something else with the files inside.

that doesn't work either. It stopped working after I reinstalled and added the update. 1.01b
Hope that helps.

Does it show an error message of any kind?

What mod are you trying to install?

Cannot find "DAUpdater.xml" file Please contact Tech support. Or if I do it manually, it shows old file locations as if its not keeping up to time with the system.

Do you have DAUpdater.xml file in data ("Dragon Age Origins\\data") folder?

Is this when you do the open-the-updater-and-drag-it-in thing?

Could you screenshot what it looks like?

Also, what mod are you trying to install?

What do you mean by "never worked"?

Did it give you an error message? Just nothing happened? Something else went wrong?

Incidentally, this is why I hate working tech support - it's actually quite hard to get someone to give you a clear description of the problem.

So you dragged the .dazip onto the updater, and it didn't show up in the list? No error message or anything?

Are you sure it's a mod that needs to be installed by the updater? Try reading the mod documentation again. Or link us to which mod it is.

Instead of trying the drag method, what happens if you open the updater, click the "Select DAZIPs" button at the bottom, and select a mod?

I get that it says it works, but it never shows up in the content in the game.

You did select it and click "install selected" in the updater, right?

And once you've installed it, you did go to the "Installed Content" tab in the DLC menu in-game and checked that it was enabled, right?
