I'm not sure how Maric sleeping around makes him chivalrous.

It isn't, but it is a common motif amongst tales of knights. What I meant to say is that the knights from King Arthur's tales (and Beowulf) would often find themselves sleeping with women whom they originally didn't plan to. The forbidden love theme is rather provocative.

I think Chivalry is more about wanting to sleep with someone and not doing so. "To love, pure and chaste from afar" as the song goes.

Chivalry was a whole code of ethics.

I'd guess Anora would have Vaughan quietly locked up somewhere fairly comfortable.  Stops him from doing any more harm and stirring up trouble in the alienage, but avoids a scandal and doesn't alienate his family.

She'd probably execute the CE, though.  Letting people kill their superiors is bad precedent.

If Vaughan's case ever came to Anora it would have to be post-Blight if you don't kill him and then Vaughan's the only one left so he has no family to alienate.

It's all a very interesting code of honor that isn't widely (in fact hardly) acknowledged or respected anymore. Too bad eh? I made my Cousland a chivalric, though not perfectly, individual. I am a HUGE fan of knightly tales.

I miss Heath Ledger, by the way; I think he did a swell job in "A Knight's Tale" :crying:

If you want a good example of a modern guy trying to be chivalrous, read the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. I think Harry Dresden would understand the choices the Warden has to make in DAO.

I recommend those books, too. Very enjoyable. (A Knight's Tale was an excellent movie)
