You mean headshotting a YMIR turns it into a nuke blast?

Thats just a cool part of the game. Even works with the Carnifex or a Shotgun.

There's no YMIR mech there. It's the wall that, I thought, it could only be detonated with the tank inside the room. Turns out the widow works too.

I don't think so. If you shoot it, Kasumi says something like "we'll need heavier weapons than that to blow the tanks".
I haven't tried the Claymore though.

I can confirm that it works with the Widow. I haven't tried it with the Mantis, though. I may be doing the mission soon, so I'll be able to test that then.

Just tested the Mantis. Nothing doing. It has to be the Widow or the cannon on the vehicle.

Well the widow is an anti-materiel rifle. It's job is to do things like blow holes in walls/reinforced armor. I think it's very cool that you're able to do that with the Widow.

I've tried it with a lot of weapons, and the only one that will blow those storage tanks is the Widow as far as I know.



(On the other hand, firing off the mass accelerator cannon on an AFV inside a building to get through a wall is classic Shepherd.)

Well, in coalesced.ini, the Widow is "MassCannon". Not just a fancy name I guess... ;-)

I always take my time to finish off enemy with my Widow, it is just an amazing cannon. Nice to know this trick too. ^^

I've done that accidentally (missed my target and hit the tanks) before too, with widow plus adrenaline rush. I'm curious if Infiltrator cloak + widow would do that kind of damage.

Yep, do that when i have a widow. When I don't, i just ignore everything and rush to the mounted weapon. Either ends that portion pretty quick

I know the grenade launcher and the missle launcher work here too, and I think any heavy weapon will work here. The first coupla times I played thru Kasumi's DLC, I didn't even know that turret gun was there. I just used my heavy weapon and there ya go.
